Stress also adds to the blahs!! We had some teenage turmoil at our house this past week and it took everything I had to get my butt to the gym. But once I did I was so glad and felt so much better. Even emotionally was able to look at the situation a little bit better than before...

Stripped and mopped and waxed my huge kitchen floor by hand. I'm looking forward to a workout DVD! This home improvement workout stuff is HARD! I think it's going to be a two ibuprofen night...

My family did an 8 mile bike ride across the High Trestle Trail Bridge and bike trail this evening. It was an official family event with lots of bikers and walkers. We saw the bridge in daylight last summer before the decorations were quite finished. Look at the end photo on the link and you'll see how it looks at night...very cool! I think next time we go, we'll have to bike more of the trail. I felt like I could have kept going tonight! That's what Chalene and Jillian have done for me:)

Just finished a not quite two mile walk with my daughter. We had to cut it short since we started late and it was getting dark.

Went for a 2-mile run this morning. I'm getting better. I can run for longer stretches and I walk less than before. I finally figured out how to keep from wheezing, even in the heart of allergy season.

I weighed in today. Total weight loss this year is 26 lbs. I have 37 lbs to go to meet my ultimate goal and a healthy BMI. But it sure was a good feeling yesterday when I picked up a pair of bermuda shorts at Old Navy and I was able to buy a pair that are two sizes down from where I started at in January of this year!

On July 4th, there's a 5K in my town. I thought about entering, even though I'll probably finish very close to last 10 or so. I can't decide if I want to do it, but I think it may be some great motivation to keep a regular workout schedule for the next couple of weeks. I also want that feeling of saying "I did this!!" when last year, I would have laughed at myself and said "yeah, right!"

ChaLEAN Extreme Lean Circuit 1 today. Whoo baby is that intense:) My triceps don't like me much and I'm glad I don't really need to do much of anything to get dinner on the table.
Tomorrow is a scheduled rest day, but if it's nice I may walk or jog the mile to Bookmobile. Not if it's as hot as today though.

ugh...it was hot/humid out already at 6:30, by the time we got our 5 miles done we were both dripping with sweat. UGH!!

Good for you Becca! I keep thinking that maybe by next summer i'll be ready to do a little 5 k (not holding my breath though) I say go for it! That will help keep you accountable, and you'll know that you have that goal to strive for. And yes, you'll be able to day "I did it!"

Oh yeah it's very icky here. By 5:45am, it was already 80 degrees outside. Temps this afternoon are supposed to hit the upper 90s with heat indexes above 100.

I haven't done any exercise this weekend, unless you count the short 5-minute walks to & from my parents house. Although yesterday I got drafted into helping my mom set up the school cafeteria for preschool summer camp. We spent about an hour moving tables & chairs, carrying supplies down from her classroom to the cafe, and then rearranging everything to make a "camp" area. We were both sweating by the time we were through, but I'm not sure if it was from physical exertion or more due to the fact that the a/c isn't running high on weekends ;)

It's so funny that you all are talking about a 5K. I was thinking about that this morning as I walked Buddy. I did one a few years ago, but I don't think my knee could hold up. There are days when walking really bothers me! Buddy and I walked about 50 minutes today. I didn't do anything on Friday, but Saturday we did a lot of yard work, some of it heavy.

One week from today I have to start back on my diet and exercise plan for dh. He wants to lose a lot more weight before he goes to school in 1 month. If I don't do it, too, he won't get it done. Besides, I need to break the sugar habit again!

Carla, do all you can to encourage DH to lose that weight before he goes to school. He does NOT want to check in looking or being overweight (or even pushing it). And he needs to be able to do well on the PT test when he checks in. He'll be around a lot of younger guys who have been in line units that do serious PT every day.

Chalean Extreme "Extreme Abs" done for the day. Strictly speaking it was a rest day, but this video is only about 15 minutes long and I REALLY want to get my abs in better shape. The funny thing is I think I did more with my abs in the 30 days of shredding with Jillian than I did in the previous time with Chalene...C only has you do abs once a week (though she does say you can do the video more often than that, I chose not to), whereas Jillian has you do 3 minutes of abs every single day.

I have had great results with Jillian myself. My husband was doing Insanity and he actually is getting better results with the weight coming off with Jillian too. It doesn't look like it would be as hard as Insanity but however she does it burns that fat and tones!!

Oh yes, I think Jillian's intervals training is great for losing weight and burning off body fat. I lost another 1-2% body fat in the 30 day Shred we just did.
I do have to be careful comparing Chalene to Jillian...I actually did Jillian's workouts for 30 days straight. Previously I was doing a Chalene workout once every 2-3 days on average. This time I plan to stick with Chalene virtually every day. And that's why I love these checkin threads and Tiza's chart (from before). You get my pride involved or make it into a tidbit of a competition and that's exactly what I need to motivate myself:)

I did about an hour on the elliptical at the gym today. If I hadn't needed to get home to fix dinner, I would have gone another 30 minutes since I was enjoying my book. ;)

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday by 6:30 it was already in the 80's and very humid. Today it was almost chilly enough to wear a jacket...it was perfect walking weather! Looking forward to this whole week, they are saying a few days it will be in the 50's in the AM. Yeah!!

Thanks, Gayle. Dh will be fine on the PT test...he's been running and doing the situps and pushups on a regular basis. He just doesn't want to be embarrassed by being flagged on weight.

I'm sitting here today waiting for topsoil to be delivered. I don't have to be here when it arrives, but I'd like to be so that I can beg the driver to dump it in the backyard instead of the driveway! I'll get a good work out in shoveling the topsoil once it does get here. I'll keep you updated!

I've been slacking this week. The most I've done is a couple of blocks' walk to the library and back.

It's been so crazy this week between work and the girls' summer dance schedule that I feel like I'm running in circles. To top it off, the humidity is horrendous. Ugh... it's 6:30am now, and it's so muggy outside and in this house already.

I'm doing great with my eating though... so at least I can say that I didn't completely fall off the wagon.

I love that Burn Intervals workout, Cheri! I haven't been doing Chalene lately, though. I'm a "open the windows" kind of person, so I fight having that A/C on in the house as long as humanly possible. Chalene makes me dizzy after awhile, because it gets too warm in here... even with the A/C on.

Yesterday, I rode a bike with my daughter and husband. For two miles! The first time I've been on a bike in probably over 10 years! I forgot how great it feels to have the wind in your hair when you're on a bike... it was fabulous! This might become a regular thing for my family after dinner now. :)

Got my 5 miles in yesterday. I have to tell you it was a lazy day yesterday (some medicine I'm taking just knocks me out and all I want to do is sleep) I finally got up and was just going to take a short mile walk. Well right after I started this car pulls up next to me, it's this guy I went to high school with that I see from time to time. He goes "what ever your doing don't stop. I can tell you've lost a ton of weight..you look good" Well if that's not the motivation to go the whole 5 miles i'm not sure what it. LOL
