I've been starting to wonder if staring at my computer monitors are part of my headache problem. Maybe my brain is having issues with them, right? It could be why sitting in my natural-light-filled bedroom feels so much better to me now. (My head injury has changed a lot and I've had to adapt.) I've made an eye appointment to get my eyes checked out - just in case.

So imagine my delight to get an email from a guy I follow about some lights you can attach to the back of your monitor to help. I immediately went out to Amazon and ordered some. I'll report back once I find out.

I thought I'd show this to you, just in case anyone else is having the same problem!

This is where you find out about it.

That's interesting, Ro. I guess I'm fortunate - I don't think my eyes hurt, but I wonder if that could have anything to do with all of the migraines????

How timely, Ro! I am definately going to staples today to see if they have this. I do suffer from eye strain due to the computer - I am on it all day at work and then add to it my addiction to digital scrapbooking, and of course, I HAVE to spend time at SG to see what all my SG sisters are doing. I definately have eye strain (and headaches) so, thank you for sharing!!

Thanks for the info, Ro. My eyes do get tired from being on the computer a lot. I've been limiting my time to only a couple of hours at a sitting. I also have carpal tunnel and arthritis, and my right hand has been hurting a lot more lately. I am now using the mouse with my left hand to ease the pain. My scrapping has slowed down until I get used to using my left hand again. I might have to get one of those wrist braces. Sometimes when I use my right hand too much, not only does it hurt, but I get these spasms in my fingers and they get all wonky n me. Then I can't use my hand at all and it hurts like heck. Massage and heat are the only things that seem to help. Oh, the joys of being a 'mature' individual. LOL

From an even more "mature" individual, I hear you. But, as they say, it beats the alternative.

This is an interesting product, Ro. Another thing you might want to try is to position your desk so it's not facing the wall. Make the L or U shape go the other way so you are looking out into the room instead of looking at the wall. When I gave up my office room so Dan could have his own room, I changed the configuration of my desk. Now my back is against the wall and I face out into the room. (I can't hide the cords as easily... but they also don't become a huge fire hazard either this way. lol!) I think this has made things so much better on my eyes - and my mood too - as I can look out the big window from a distance and am not always staring at the wall.

I think it would be so cool to see each other's desk/space configurations. lol!

Ro, that sounds like a great product. I suffer from a lot of headaches. One other thing that helped me was to get a pair of Irlen lenses for my glasses. People can develop Irlen syndrome from Traumatic Brain Injury's and all sorts of other things.

Thanks for the timely tip... DH has been having awful headaches of late, which I assumed was combination of prior retinal detachements and heavy monitor usage. We will get these for him soon!
