Scrapping About Dad
Posted 18 June 2011 - 06:35 AM
I have never scrapped about my father. I've scrapped a few pages for him... written in letter form. But never, ever about him. Just the thought of it makes me teary-eyed and fearful of the overwhelming emotions.
That's my goal this weekend... to scrap about my Dad and who he was. So my children have something to remember him by or even know him by. Since my youngest was born after his death.
Wish me luck... and any tips on scrapping about something heart-wrenching are welcome.

I have no tips or advice, but just wanted to say that your idea is awesome and I can't wait to see what you scrap. There's nothing like the feeling we get from sweet memories!

Your story will probably feel teary at times, but in the end I'm sure you'll have a beautifully touching tribute and remembrance of your Dad.
Hugs to you...

I found and begged for pictures/information from everyone who knew him. I had baby pictures, youth pictures and a myriad of pictures of him having fun with all his children in various stages of growing up. And lots of grandchildren/great grandchildren pictures. Everyone was included and their memories were journalled.
Becca I know this will be a difficult undertaking but one that will ultimately give you great joy because you will have chronicled your Dad's life and will have those precious memories forever, not to be dimmed by the passing of time.
