Five years ago our church (founded in 1923) closed. We were in a beautiful old building with too many bills, too little money, and an aging congregation. So we closed the doors and merged with another Methodist church just north of us. We packed things into storage and that's where most of it has remained since then, but this morning we had a cleanup day at the 'new' church. We're preparing to gut our very old two story education building and use funds from the sale of my old church to completely renovate it.
Several of the rooms upstairs were where we stored things after the move, and included were boxes upon boxes of loose photos and albums dating back to the 1940's, a few of them older. There are several photos of the original building that was demolished well before I was born. I've been scanning and scanning, and just wallowing in the fun!
I knew you all could relate.
