Hi,
I create my Lo's as 12 x 12. To print outside the home, say at Costco, do I need to save an LO as an 8 x 8 to order prints? Or, can I keep it as a 12 x 12, but tell them to print 8 x 8? (Sorry, I know this is a simple question to most of you.)
Thanks, Jean

I haven't ordered from Costco so I can't answer your question directly. I think it's safest to save it to the size you are going to want it printed if you are sending it out, just to avoid the processor inadvertently just cropping it to 8x8. Plus, you have to save it as a .jpg usually when you send things out to print, so why not save it as an 8x8 .jpg anyway?
That being said, when I print at home, I often just reduce the size to the 8x8, print and then close the layout without saving it at the smaller size. I realize I run the risk of accidentally saving over my 12x12, but I haven't done that yet. (Keeping her fingers crossed and trying to be super diligent.) If I'm doing a lot of printing, I will save the 8x8s and eventually save them off to a DVD to save space on my computer. But then, I do that will all my layouts, no matter how I've saved them.

I wish I had place near me that could print 8x8! I have to save as an 8x8 them plop that image onto a 8x10 then save as a jpg to send out to print. I cut off the extra 2 inches at home. I used to scrap a bookmark on the extra 2 inches, but how many does a person need? LOL!
I agree with Pat, save as athe size you want printed.

I would agree it is probably best to save the size you want printed so there isn't any distortion etc...Good luck!
