So I totally dropped off the program when I took off work for the long weekend. Friday - Monday, I ate anything, everything, and as much as I wanted. Today's weigh in wasn't as bad as it could have been - up 1.5 lbs.

I was back on program yesterday and am doing good today...so hopefully I'll lose that 1.5 this week and be back on the down slope.

How did everyone else do over the holiday? Better than me, I hope!

Telling myself to stay strong this week - one day at a time.

Well, I was very bad over the 4th holiday too! We cooked out and I ate everything I fixed - now we are back on a regular schedule and hope things will get back to normal.

I have a big pot of veggie soup simmering on my stove - added barley to it - it's good for weight loss and good for bringing cholesterol down too - plus it helps with not adding potatoes to my soup! We are big soup lovers as long as it's homemade so I make and freeze alot of soup in the summer when the fresh veggies are in!

Didn't gain anything but feel like I did! UGH!

I feel like I shouldn't even post in these threads until I get back with it. Ugh. I haven't been counting points or following the plan for a couple/few months. It's always in the back of my mind though and probably helps me to make decent choices when I want to. Otherwise I eat the dang Little Debbie brownies anyway. lol

That all sounded sort of bitter. lol

Michele, I'd imagine confession is good for us. I'm glad the gain wasn't big. Sounds like you're back on track.

I was kind of bad over the three days when we visited our granddaughter, ate hamburger and chips, and a couple of other things I really shouldn't. But somehow it worked out ok, because I lost a pound for the week. I feel very lucky. I have one pound to go and then maintenance. That's where I have fallen down before. Keep up the good work ladies. We all slip once in a while, and a holiday is certainly understandable.

I may as well jump in and confess too. I have been struggling to get back on track and the long weekend didn't help. Now we are going on vacation Friday for 2 weeks. In the past I've managed to keep from gaining too much even when travelling so I hope this vacation won't be too bad. I won't be counting points though. When I get back from vacation (on July 22) I will be counting again and I mean it this time!

I've been off all week with the holiday/schedule....didn't know what day of the week it was/is. I was fine on the holiday, but slipped up the past few days. It's been hot and humid and blah and I feel blah. No exercise, either. That's not good. Up a lb, too.

Time to get back on track. Soup might be the way to start! It always works, doesn't it? And, I like homemade soup so much. Good idea, Sara!

Wow, Joyce, that's so great! WTG!!

Thanks for getting this thread going this week. I totally forgot.

Char, it's gotta be hard with the boys home and probably hungry all the time. Nobody eats like growing boys. Just keeping the kitchen stocked is a job. I am thinking that it will all get easier when the fall arrives.

LOL, have a great time and don't worry about it. After vacation will be soon enough. Like you said, you probably won't gain...I think you tend to be more active on vacation than you think.

I hardly ever gain on vacation, probably because I'm more active. Also, I tend to be a compulsive eater, and eat when I'm bored. That's why it's so necessary for me to count points.

Oh, Joyce - I do that too - I eat when I'm bored! It's a terrible habit! And I was very bad tonite - we went to Main for dinner and to listen to the music at the Sock Hop and although Rich and I shared a dinner (that would have been way too big to have had alone) we both had a piece of Key Lime Pie! Omigosh, the calories, the calories, I shudder to even think about how many! But it was sooooooooooo good!

My freezer is filling up with homemade soup with all of the fresh veggies I've been getting - everytime I make a pot of soup to freeze we have a big bowl of soup for supper and a salad so tonight was much more food than we've been having. I feel like a stuffed pig tonite! Groan!

We buy the WW key lime pie. Have you tried it? It's 5 points, and we use fat free Reddi Whip on it, which is free as long as you don't overdo it too much. I recommend it.

I have not yet tried the WW pie, Joyce but I will put it on my grocery list. The pie at the Pub was sooooo creamy, so cold, and so yummy! But I knew with every bite I took that it was going right to my thighs! LOL

Thanks for letting me know about the pie!

I love the idea of the home made soup - I just seem to be all about ready made food lately. I know it's better to make your own so you control what goes in, but I just can't deal with it right now.

It's so easy to make the soup really. And I have no recipes written down......I just kind of put things that are healthy and that we liked into my soup. I'm just the opposite - ready made food doesn't appeal to me so much lately. I love being in the kitchen and am happiest when I can smell that yummy pot of soup or whatever I'm cooking waft through my house. Making it from scratch doesn't take much time at all really! You should give it a try! What's really nice is that you can make a big pot in as much time as you can make a small pot and then you have that wonderful soup to put in your freezer!

Ah, the weekend is almost here and I am already thinking of things to cookout on the grill while trying to be good. Not always an easy task, but I do find that I really like cooking veggies on the grill - I like to roast peppers of all colors and they are not only healthy to eat, but filling and no calories! Zucchini and yellow squash are great things to do on the grill. Lately, I've been making hobo packs (just anything and everything wrapped in aluminum foil and tossed on the grill) without the meat in them and filled with lots and lots of veggies. It looks like alot of food and tastes so good when cooked outside.

My Dad is still on his no meat diet and has kept his cholesterol under control and now has lost 20 lbs., so there has to be something to the no meat thing! I'm finding it very hard though to think of meals with no meat!

Yesterday Rich and I walked only 2 miles, but.......it was twice up the big hill on our street so I feel as if I've walked twice that far.

I have a challenge today. Going to lunch with the girls and the hostess has chosen PF Changs. I looked online and think I have picked out what I am going to eat. I just have to stick to it.
