Png. Vs. Sh Png.

I just downloaded a JIF 6 and noticed that there are pngs. and there are SH-pngs. For instance, there is an Embellishment Heart.png and an Embellishment Heart-SH.png. What is the difference between these two?
Secondly, I use PSE 9. When I work with a photo, I always duplicate the photo first and then I work on the copy. This way I am sure that I won't change the original in any way.
Should I also be working on a duplicate when I am using scrapbooking items (paper, embellishments, etc.)?
Thanks for your help.

When you use the scrapbooking items such as paper or embellishments, it is not necessary to duplicate the items, though you could do so if you wish. After you open an item, drag it onto your document (layout) then close the original. If you would rather, you could duplicate the item, then close the original the same way you do with your photos.
