~~~~~slinking in~~~~~
I "think" about WW...but I'm not actually on plan these days. *ducks head in shame*
I need to get back on plan, though.
I'm on maintenance now, Di, and trying really hard to stick to it. This is where I usually fail. We went out for catfish last night (with onion rings), so I have to be very good today. I think it would be great to keep this thread going. I'm a firm believer in WW, and love to cheer on others. :2468who-do-we-appreciate: :2468who-do-we-appreciate: :2468who-do-we-appreciate:
I'm back on plan, after a week that included three days of travel to New Mexico, and delicious food, but way too much of it, and definitely not on plan.
Am down 11 pounds since early April, and hoping to kick-start the continuation, so I'm glad to see this thread active.
Thanks, Di. I've been timid about posting on this thread since I have gone off the program completely. I would love to get back on with you girls.
Joyce is a good inspiration!
Me too! My DH & I did get back on track for a week and a half and then the twins came and all bets were off. I love the support this thread provides and will love to see it back as a regular feature again.
I did it for about three days. keeping track of it overwhelmed me, so I stopped.
BUT I did find the coolest Android app to do it (not WW's). Maybe someday, I'll install it again.
I'm not doing WW anymore, Di but am doing the Shred here - why don't you give that a try? There's another thread that's super encouraging about the foods we eat and Angie has the best suggestions!
I have done WW before and achieved "lifetime" status. Since they've changed the program, I just didn't want to go back in and enter my recipes again into the online program. I am just counting calories and using a pretty cool journal for that. I've found that counting calories (and using a way to estimate calories in foods that don't list them) is actually a lot easier for me than figuring out the points. I have a calorie budget (1400) rather than a points budget. It is working for me. All those clothes I bought after I hit my goal weight are still fitting perfectly.
My Gallery I scrap with Photoshop CS6, but can help with older versions: PS7, CS2 & CS4.
I did WW in the very old days. I love the new program, and do it online. Since most fruits and vegetables are "free" within reason, I only need to track protein, dairy, fat & carbohydrates.
When I was first learning the program, I found it useful to just eat "carefully" and record what I ate after the fact. If I went over, so be it, but focused on learning the points for that item and similar. So I don't know all the points at all, but I know that I can have 3-4 oz lean protein at dinner, for instance. I know to be very careful of fats and carbohydrates, and eat them sparingly. Since you get 49 "extra" points for a week, on top of the 29 per day, I can mostly make it work. It takes time to learn to track it, though.
I do it online also, even though I am a lifetime member and could go to meetings free. I love having all that info on my computer. Now that I'm on maintenance I don't know how long I'll stay with it on line, but maintenance has always been hard for me for some reason.
I still weigh in to WW once a month to maintain my lifetime status, (I joined in 2002 and have remained ever since) but honestly I don't really follow it that much anymore. The new system is WAY too complicated. Those old slider cards were simple. So when I do count, I use the old system. But in general, I think WW is a great program.
Once I got onto the new program, and it's work to change everything around especially my favorites online, but I'm getting it done, one day at a time and I really like the new program alot better then the old and once I get all my stuff changed over....I'll love it! LOL
I've fallen off the wagon, but I'm still an on-line member. I have a lot going on and I just can't deal with it right now. But I'll cheer others on until I can get my willpower back.
