Tuesday, 9/20 I got a 20 minute walk in with the dogs this morning - had to wear the boots as the fields and horse pastures are wet. I didn't want to venture on the country roads this morning as the fog is heavy. This also alowed the little aussie girls the opportunity to run off leash and sniff and the smells of autumn coming to Michigan. Lakota didn't do as much sniffing as she was carrying around her apple the whole walk and only guardedly put it down for 30 seconds while sniffing something, but promptly picked it back up. She carried it the entire walk - silly pup!! I'll be doing upper weights later this afternoon.

Wow my legs are sore today!! Between the taiko class on Sunday and my long bike ride last night, I really worked those muscles. I think they deserve a break. Tonight my plan is to do AbJam, followed by an arms/shoulders toning video. Work the upper half of my body while the lower half rests.

I know what you mean. I woke up with sore gluts today. To top it off it's a rainy day. It would have been so perfect to stay in bed.

Tuesday done--I found the Turbo Jam Fat Blaster bonus workout on my CE DVDs. Fun, but I had trouble keeping up, so I just made it up and kept moving until I could get the right foot and arm in the right place again!

Now, I am hoping to hang out laundry and wash windows now that the fog is gone (must've been widespread if Lei had it too!) Just hoping that I can move my arms--the bi's and tri's are so sore from Lean Circuit 1!!

Kim - we had some large patches of dense fog around the area this morning too. It wasn't bad in my neighborhood though, but the news showed video of some areas of the highway where you couldn't even see the road the fog was so thick!

I am done for today (Tuesday) 25 minutes of boot camp and a 40 minute walk. Light day! (i.e. I didn't seem to be working too hard in the boot camp) I'll pick it up harder tomorrow.
On a good note, I got my hair cut. That should take some weight off! LOL I cut it to my shoulders. I haven't had it that short in so long. I think it will be a nice change.

Today I squatted down to reach the bottom drawer of a file cabinet and couldn't get back up. My legs are that sore this morning. Ouch!!

Oh...I had a preliminary weigh-in this morning. It looks like I might be back down another pound. I won't keep my hopes up though. I'll do my official weigh-in and measurements tonight.

I so did not want to "jog" today, but I got an email a little bit ago that gave me that push I needed. So I got week 5 day 1 of couch to 5k done also.

This week has not been good in the weight area. I knew I was going to have a tough week because I've had 4 pretty good weeks (3-6lb per week) But what I didn't factor in is the extra workout i've been doing (ChaLEAN and jogging) and have found myself hungry constantly. So most of last week and this weekend i've snacked, and not good stuff. I knew better, and in the back of my mind I knew what was going on, but it didn't click. So today while I was doing ChaLEAN she made the comment about "do you find yourself hungry on the day you lift heavy weights" you should of heard me I was like "YES" then she went on to explain it's the metabolism getting that boost and the light bulb went off. So all along I wasn't crazy, and it's been justified, I just haven't handled it right. So in my morning shake i've added a little extra protein, and let me tell you it was hard to finish it. I was full about 1/2 way through. So hopefully that's what I need to get back on track. So this week was a big 0 for the weight loss...but I was all ready for a + so i'll take it!

Angie, I'm glad you got answers as to why you were so hungry and nibbley. (I think I just made that word up) And yay for not gaining weight during the heavy snacking period.

I need a metabolism boost! Sounds like I might go to ChaLEAN in the near future ;)

Angie, I went for a walk at 9AM one morning last week. It was only a mile, but I was HUNGRY all day and snacking in a bad way. I was a bad, bad, bad girl that day. I never exercise that early in the morning. I think that might have been the problem. I find if I exercise around mid-morning or soon after lunch then I don't have those awesome cravings to snack. It was REALLY bad that day. I'll have to check out adding a protein shake or bar to my diet though. That's a good tip. thanks.

Shoes? Sometimes my Reebok walking/cross-training everyday tennies...but mostly I have a pair of Saucony running shoes that are comfy. I don't run, but need good support for Chalene's workouts. I like the Reeboks best for all the walking I do on the weekends.

As for hunger, I've been very hungry since starting the burn phase of ChaLean Extreme. I'm guessing, after one day of the Lean Circuit, that this will continue. She said on day one to eat often and eat LEAN. I'm going to try. I have not had any loss for a month...but my eating has been excessive. The good news for me is that I can reach a comfortable maintenance, but I don't want to maintain yet! Time to get better about my eating again.

I already eat 5 times a day on South Beach. I wonder if my diet plan will be messed up if I started ChaLEAN. I guess not, as long as I keep eating SB-approved foods.

I've never changed my diet, so i'm not following hers. I've failed too many times trying to stick to strict diets when I started this in Jan I decided I would just cut back and cut out "junk" and it's worked so far. I know sooner or later I will have to really change the diets, because i'll hit that plateau, but i'll deal with that when the time comes

I'll hang my head in shame now..alot of time when i'm working out or doing video's I go shoeless. To me it's easier to to do the moves on carpet with socks only.

For walking I wear my MBT's (love them) and for jogging/elliptical I use Ecco Biom's. Once of the best things I did a few months ago was invest in some really good shoes. It's really helped with the knee pain I was starting to feel while walking

I had always been a Nike (running shoe) girl, but I bought Asics the other day. I've heard really good things about them and they are very comfortable. Mine say "gel" on them and he reassured me they have plenty of cushion for the "impacty" plyometrics in P90X, and would also be good for running (if I get the urge again;)
