Tuesday is done too...I don't remember if I checked. (translated: I'm too lazy to check and see if I checked in so this is my check in to be safe...........)

LOL - you didn't check in and I commented that you better;) In fact I said I'd give y'all until the end of Wednesday (today) to check in for the charting days and I'll post the final chart late tonight/early tomorrow (depending on how late I go to bed). :)

Whew....I made it in the nick of time!! ;) No sirens necessary...

Thank you everyone for your support. It has been a very stressful year and I think the scale was the straw that broke the camels back. Such a silly thing to cry over. Normally I'm not one to be down and frustrated.

I appreciated all your thoughts and ideas very much.

I do have a diet that I want to try. It's called the "Full Plate Diet." I have the book and it is geared towards vegetarians. I just need to take the time to read it. (Time seeems to be in short supply right now.) A vegetarian diet is actually a religious thing. I actually eat meat some occasionally, but my husband gets sick to the stomach at the thought of putting any near his mouth. He was raised vegetarian. We eat some dairy, mostly cheese, and use some cow's milk in cooking. We drink Soy Milk (has less calories than cow's milk :D) We don't overdo the carbs and serve protein with every meal. We try for variety, but nuts aren't high on our common proteins.

I like the protein shake idea. We have a mix that I get for making smoothies so I tried it out for lunch and haven't had the munchies all afternoon. I prefer eggs for breakfast though.

I'm up for another month and looking forward to it. I didn't like my empty spots. Each day is fresh with no mistakes in it.

I did a lot of walking at the band rehearsal tonight. DH and I put 80 signs up naming all the band kids...then we did our parent show of marching and dancing for them. Since we aren't keeping track, I'm counting it as it is all I had time for today...and I'll be sore tomorrow. :disappearing-smilie:

The guy that is running this training event had us jumping up and down every twenty minutes in order to keep us alert. I'm going to count it. The bummer part is that I landed on my foot wrong towards the end and hurt my ankle. I've improvised and wrapped ice in a towel to ice it down. I pinned another towel around it tightly as a substitute ace bandage. Hopefully, it feels better tomorrow.

I'm going to count the jumping up and down as today's exercise.

If it's still hurting tomorrow try to prop it up/elevate it as best you can during the conference tomorrow - we need you ready to shred on Monday! :) (Not that you can't shred in the meantime of course...;)
*hugs*

Has anyone see the new (new to me anyway) electronic jump ropes? They look so cool and I'm thinking about ordering some - they count for you and you can change the speed with which you jump - there is NO REAL rope - just the handles and when I watched them use it thought it would be so much fun and great for me. You don't have to do the full jump as we know it so it makes it a little easier on the knees and the feet.

Just wondered if anyone here had them or had seen them?

Never heard of them Sara; but it sounds fun. I liked jumping rope as a kid. Maybe I should try it again, lol.
Did anyone participate in "Jump Rope for Heart"? It was a fundraiser for the American Heart Association (I think) that my elementary school participated in every year back in the 1980s. Fun!

I remember doing that too Cheri...LOL brings back memories.

Well I finally hit the 40 lb mark this morning! T thought I could do it, but I didn't think I would make it since my scale has been stubborn these last couple of weeks. But it started moving again. I didn't do anything different, so like Angie has said a million times I am sure.."keep at it". I was dancing zoomba style all over the room...LOL

This week I went shopping for a new mirror for our dining room. Somehow between the store and home a HUGE rip appeared down the back of my jeans near the pocket. (yes boo-tay in full view) Did Jeroen's mom tell me? NO... Did I feel a breeze? NO! Jeroen's step dad told me when I got home and Elly said, "Oh yeah I was going to tell you but I forgot". Forgot??? That was embarrassing and it really was my last pair of casual jeans that fit somewhat. I officially only have 3 prs of pants that I can really wear and 2 of them are workout. Good thing we leave Monday for the US where I can go and get some new Levi's. YAY..so very excited.

I know you can't wait to get "home" to see your family.
How long will you be in the States?
It's so good you are on shopping terms with Jeroen's family.

I don't think I checked in yesterday, since we're not really keeping track right now. I did the 30 minute Foundation workout. Today (Friday, Oct. 14) I did 37 minute Power Walk.

I went jeans shopping last night. The first pair of size 8 jeans that I grabbed from the rack fit perfectly!! No pushing or pulling or gut-sucking or alterations needed. So I bought 2 pairs - one medium-wash bootcut, and one darker-wash straight-leg. I'm wearing the straight-leg jeans today, and I just feel slimmer in them. I find myself looking down at my legs occasionally just to check them out. I'm sure if I was wearing cute heeled shoes instead of sneakers I would probably look taller too.

Now I have 3 pairs of good-fitting jeans to get me through the winter, and a couple pairs of slightly-too-large jeans for backup (which will fit over a pair of leggings/long-johns in the really cold months)

Yay for cute jeans!

Hooray!!! 40 40 40 yay, 40 pounds are gone today! :2468who-do-we-appreciate: :2468who-do-we-appreciate: :2468who-do-we-appreciate: and no, I wasn't a cheerleader (ok, I confess, I was a cheerleader for one football season in 7th grade, lol...it wasn't for me)
Oh dear on the pants things...*pats back* I hope you can laugh about it someday. I will also confess again - I giggled, just a little. From total sympathy I promise!
Have a wonderful trip to the states, visiting, shopping, etc and check in once or twice if you get the chance! Safe travels:)

My only exercise yesterday was the 2 mile round trip bike ride to pick up my kindergartner. Today I did the one hour Stretch DVD I was supposed to do yesterday.

Tiza, Fitting into new jeans is soooo exciting!

Brandy, Congrats!! That is awesome! And omg, I did that once. I was wearing a pair of tight jeans to a party at a friend's house and it totally ripped down the back, right in the middle seam!! SOOOOO embarrassing, even more so because I only noticed it when I went home and I don't know who saw. NO MORE CHEAP JEANS for me! Or maybe no more too-tight jeans, lol.

Sara Arell, that jump rope sounds so cool, I want to try one! Jumping rope is such good exercise (has anyone tried that since they were a kid? It gets you tired fast!) but it would be nice to be able to do it indoors or wherever.

Ro, that sounds painful!

Sara, I totally get where you are coming from. I have done all sorts of things on my quest to be ever-healthier, including (mostly) vegetarian, Raw foods (about as extreme vegan as it gets), low carb, Schwarzbein, South Beach, etc. You name it. I have always had a lot of respect for vegetarians and vegans and conscious eaters who try to eat locally, organic, etc. I think it's very noble. Learning about the dangers of soy has really scared me away from tofu (which I LOVE) and soy products. What has only recently come to my attention these last few yeas is how damaging wheat, corn and grains are. Realizing we are all part of the cycle of life has made me realize it's okay to eat animals (I hate to kill any living thing) but to be selective about where you get them (grass-fed, organic, etc.) The methods these meat-plants are using is an absolute nightmare and makes me sick. I realize this discussion is neither here nor there. I'm just making conversation I guess. I just care. I hope you find a diet that works for you!

Bummer.... I am ruining my perfect record today. I'm in an ace bandage and have been hobbling around. On the upside, I am hobbling less than this morning. Hopefully, I'll be okay on Monday when I go back to the gym.

Ro, at least it's in between charts, so it won't show here!
Let's not get into the old military mindset of "walk it off" when we're injured. We're focusing on health, not competition.
