Tuesday 10/18 was a big workout day for me. Unintentional though LOL. I went to my 1 hr hula class and then my friend dropped me off at home only to realize I hadn't taken my keys with me and my hubby was gone with the kids. Well you can't very well just sit down on the driveway and wait here. The B-52 Bomber cockroaches come out after dark here, so you don't sit around waiting for them. You have to keep moving LOL. So I walked around my neighborhood three and a half times while I waited for my family to get home LOL. That equaled a little over a mile and a half of walking and a bonus 30 minutes of exercise :) Hehehe.

That's one way to get in some extra exercise!

I’m on day 2 of antibiotics and staying home. Last night I finally slept through the night! You gals are all doing so well.

Sandi – Isn’t it wonderful to feel stronger and have more energy! You GO friend!

Tiza – YEAH!! ½ pound = 2 sticks of butter … how’s that for a visual??

SarahB – Sounds like a great walk!

AngRo – I have this visual of a dance with pointie toed cowboy boots – why? I don’t know – it’s what I think of when I hear about cockroaches! Good for you on the extra walk!!

Cheri & Sheri – I have no idea what Plyometrics is – but it sounds tough. Will have to look that one up.

I couldn't check in Tuesday because our internet is out! (Got a service guy coming this afternoon.) I did 60+ minutes walking over hill and dale at the pumpkin farm. I was on my own most of the time so I was moving quickly. Definitely had my heart rate up! (Got some pretty good photos too.) At Panera Bread for their wi-fi now and only drinking tea - no bagels. :)

I forgot to mention that I lost 3 lbs. my first week on the Kathy Smith program.

Wed. 10/19 - 20 minutes on the elliptical and 40 minutes weights and floor exercises. We are working on building me up to pass that physical fitness test. I've got a long way to go. But I'll get there. (grit)

Hi! I'm on vacation in California so I haven't been online much. Monday we went to Disneyland and did a ton of walking. Yesterday we went to the beach and Mickey's Halloween Party at night and did lots of walking so I'm counting both of them. I was so sore this morning I had to take Ibuprofin. We're going to the Aquarium of the Pacific today and I'm sure we'll be doing plenty of walking, but I'll try to check in later. I'm sure everyone is doing awesome!

I liked the band-aids too!

Lei - Plyometrics means "jump training," basically lots of squats, lunges, jumping up and down, side to side, sports drills, etc. It's high intensity, high impact (it's important to land on your toes to avoid injury.) It torches calories and is a mother of a workout! The good thing about plyometrics is that it helps you with "real life." No isolations here, it is all based on using several muscle groups at once to tone and strengthen your entire body to make things like sports, playing with your kids/grandkids, putting boxes on shelves, etc easier and make you less prone to injury.

^ It's also good for taiko drumming ;) It sounds like some of the exercises/drills we do in class could qualify as Plyometrics.

Ugh. I should be doing a Lean Circuit today...but I ran errands after school (in the rain) and have just a little time before we turn around and go back to town for church/youth group. I'd like to take my Monday night elliptical workout (I did 40 minutes while DD was at swim practice) that I banked for a spare workout to use for today.

Ang: LOL to the cockroach "coaches" :giggle_bear: *shudder at the cockroaches though* Good for you for keeping moving!
Pat: OMGold, WTG on the 3 pounds!! :2468who-do-we-appreciate:
Bandaids: Wish I would have thought of those last month for Jane and Jo Corne, who were both ill for more than a day or 2. :)
Wendee: Good for you checking in on vaca!
Amy (sanot): Hooray for your DH, although bummer on not getting to sleep in on your day off.
Angie: Glad we'll have you back bugging us more often, and can't wait to see what you've been up to:)

I am done with Back and Biceps, and Ab Ripper. My arms are Jello, in fact I wasn't sure I could make or lift my recovery drink up to my face today - not really kidding!

I think I forgot to check in last night. I was on the computer until almost 1 am, you'd think I could have remembered. :hit-head-with-hammer: I did just over and hour on the elliptical yesterday (Tuesday) and as soon as I close this browser, I'm hitting the play button for a Chalean burn circuit. I won't be opening it again when I'm done. So count me for Wednesday too please. :)

Wednesday Oct 19 - Did Shoulders and Arms and Ab Ripper x (1 hr, 15 mins)
Man was I sore today! Nothing like getting back into the routine after a vacation, plus I just started Phase 3 of P90X so I am doing different exercises than last week. I tweaked my knee a little at Fit Club last night (err... did I mention that already? I can't remember) so I was very careful today.

Tiza, Taiko definitely sounds like a great workout!

Cheri, how are you liking P90X thus far?

Wednesday, October 19 - 20 minute Upper Body/Abs workout from Project:YOU. It's a 30 minute workout but I was interrupted by the cable technician showing up. Twenty minutes was enough for the first time anyway. LOL

10/19- walk, fairly slow pace, 40 minutes
10/20- Project You! foundation 38 minutes...this is a 31 minute workout but I was 6 or 7 minutes into it when the cat walked across the keyboard (I play the DVD on my laptop) and stopped it. LOL. I just started over so got a little extra today. Felt it toward the end too. But its done.

Addendum: Took a long and brisk walk on the beach this afternoon....add another 45 minutes. I'm making my 50 min/day goal...more days than not. I'm starting to feel the difference now. When I was doing less, I didn't feel it so much. Guess that means I just need more.

I thought I'd lay down for a short little nap after the early morning coffee chat for anniversary week and woke up an hour and half later! I was planning on going into work, but it is rainy out still and chilly and after all my in and out of the past few days in this yucky weather and feeling yuck I thought I'm just going to stay cooped up one more day. If I am feeling better tomorrow I'm going to try a nice long walk even though the 5 days is not up - but for today (day 3 of meds) I'm going to still listen to the doctor.

You all are doing great - getting me chomping at the bit and motivated to jump out of the starting gate as soon as I can!!

Wed 10/19 - Forgot (there was too much excitement on the boards)
Thurs 10/20 - Did my 20 min circuit training routine

I will have to make up the other two days this week. I might be able to squeeze in another workout tonight.
