Another beautiful fall day here too! Just got in from a nice 40 minute walk with the aussie girls. That was after I helped my husband bring 3 wagon loads of stuff we cleared out from the garage so he could bring the fuselage up from the barn to park in the garage to work on this winter. Whew ... a lotta moving of stuff!! So I think you can count me as DONE for Sunday Oct 23!!

OOOOOHHHHH my sore, aching, drummers' muscles!!!

Just got home from taiko. Good news - we didn't do any jumping jacks during the warmup today!! That made me very happy :) It also meant we had lots of extra time to do taiko drills. I think we ran drills for at least an hour, maybe closer to 1.5 hours. And WOWSER my arms are tired!! We did several drills in the vertical position, and then we learned slant position. Drums are angled at 45-degrees, so obviously our arms need to drum from a similar 45-degree angle. That really works the arms & shoulders!! Oh, and in addition to the usual lunge stance, the slant position also requires some hip swiveling. Good for the obliques ;) And we were doing some FAST drumming today too!! I felt powerful and like a rag doll all at the same time.


So Cheri, can you please count my taiko class as my makeup for Monday? Thanks!!

I did 50 minutes of Yoga today and my legs are feeling mostly back to normal, yay.

It was such a gorgeous day today I had to get out and enjoy....so I walked up the beach and hiked back on the dunes. Round trip on the road is 4.8 miles, but farther on the beach and along dunes. Took me an hour and 40 minutes, but I did stop for a few photos along the way from time to time. Legs felt like jelly when I got back and was drenched with sweat. I guess that means I got a good workout in today, one ahead in case I need a day off later.

Hi Ladies! I stopped shredding awhile ago because of my new teaching school--I felt I just couldn't keep up with work and my workouts. yeah, I know. Bad idea. I'm getting fat(ter) and I absolutely need to get back to moving. I know you are a week into the latest shred, but could you please count me in? I have proven to myself that without this thread I just can't get it done.

I exercised Friday and Saturday but not today so I still need to make up Thursday's miss sometime. My knee has been sore since we got home. I think all the walking and then dragging bags to the drop off at the airport wasn't the best on my knee. I'm hoping that today's rest will help so I can start back to my regularly scheduled exercise program. ;)

Thanks, Cheri! It'll be good to get active again.

Teaching is going really well, although the first year of building two new programs is bound to be tough. Boys are doing great--they both needed to learn to be more independent, as did DH. Everyone is adjusting, thankfully.

Zack is thriving!! He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to succeed without me close by, and has really impressed himself by stepping up. He's happy, and proud of himself. I am so thankful for all the prayers and well-wishes. I think the child floats on pillows of angel kisses!

AND Tomorrow I hit the bike!!

OH. MY. GOLD! My muscles ACHE today!! My biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, back, thighs, hips, everything. But particularly my arms.... they quiver and ache just trying to pick up my coffee mug. Eddie (our substitute teacher for yesterday's class) warned us that we'll be very sore and uncomfortable until we just get stronger, and he wasn't kidding! Ow ow ow

Monday, 10/24 done. 12 minutes on the elliptical and 40 minutes weights and floor exercises. My trainer wants me to burn 200 calories in aerobic exercises each time so I have more to do - 100 cals. I just ran out of time earlier so I have to do something else later today.

Monday, October 24 - 40 minute power walk done.

I didn't get any exercise done Saturday or Sunday and I have to confess that my eating was not the best. We had a pipe band potluck party Saturday night and I was not a good girl. I enjoyed myself though. :) Sunday, we had lunch at our choir director/organist's house. 'Nuf said.

Monday done - went to the park after work because it was soooo gorgeous outside. I started getting lost in my thoughts (daydreaming) and ended up walking 45 minutes. Probably would have gone longer, but my stomach started growling.

The one bummer about beaches, lol - sand where you don't want it! In the camera, in the lower regions of your bathing suit, and I guess up your nose too!

We're all doing great girls!
I'm done for Monday too - Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I'm supposed to do Ab Ripper and we'll see if I get to it. Got an assignment that needs done first, so I may do Abs in the morning instead.

Squeezed my workout in right here at the end of the day. *sigh* I forgot I was babysitting a friend's son today and that threw my plans for a morning workout off track and then hubby came home from work early feeling sick which threw the second half of my day off schedule. What a day. But I dragged myself outside and hit the pavement for half an hour tonight. I'm restarting the Couch-to-5K training program. It felt good to be back at it :)

So count me complete for Monday 10/24!
