Don't tell Chalene, but I put my rest days where I need them and just make sure I put a cardio day or rest day between two circuit days. It works. I just make sure I follow the lifting/circuit schedule and then put whatever cardio fits into my life on the other days, then rest on Sunday...or Wednesday...or whatever day falls apart (which is why it took me 4 months to get through CE, but it still worked!)

That's what I hated most about working full time. Compound that with no windows - employers should pay for UV lights in the winter;) (It would prevent/treat a lot of seasonal depression and probably increase productivity enough to offset the cost, lol)


I do have a small window near my desk. Which helps a little. Except it just reminds me of all the daylight I'm wasting when I could be outside walking (in nice weather), sleeping (during rainy days), or playing in the snow (during winter). ;)

Good for you! You may find you need to insert another day of cardio in between strength training days and taiko days. I know taiko makes your arms sore and it might be too much two days in a row, even though taiko is considered cardio rather than strength-building. Anyway, my advice is listen to your body:)

If I need more cardio, I can do one of the TurboJam workouts or ride my exercise bike. :)

Checking in. I'm going back to the gym on Monday. It will be slow and easy (and man... I need the trainers guidance more than ever because I don't know exactly what to do), but I'm going to get back on it. I've lost 12 pounds since I started out on this adventure.

Yeah...I am so ready to start this again! I've been adding walking in slowly since surgery, doing at least a mile every day (except Saturday, the day after, and Wed) It's suppose to be nice out today so i'm going to head out after the boys leave this am.

I ordered Chalene too! I got the email that it's shipped but hasn't arrived yet. Since I'm leaving town again Monday, if it doesn't come today, I'll have to postpone starting it until the following week, but I'll find other things to do in the meantime. I'm pretty nervous about trying it. I'm so out of shape (though in much better shape that a few months ago), but I'll do the best I can. Others seem to have gotten such remarkable results and Chelene's push program is so good.

Tiza & Sandi - I'm going to try to talk my mom into doing Chalean too, maybe she will get on the MB and join the Shred.

Lei, no need not adjust your monitor, that is right. It seems pricy but they (the Beachbody programs) and very well put together and they work. Most of them have about 10 workouts (ChaLEAN comes with 15!) so you are paying for a whole training program, not just one or two workouts. I have several Beachbody programs and I am very pleased with them. They have saved me from joining the gym, and they keep me interested much more effectively because they have a cohesive theme and there is a specific timeline to follow. I have bought a ton of workout DVDs & tapes in the past (Tai Bo, Bellydancing, pilates, the Firm, etc.) and I have trouble sticking to them because there is only maybe 1, 2 or 3 workouts and no program outlined to tell you how to actually use them to get results. Plus I get bored doing the same workout every day. I am just so pleased with P90x I want to tell everyone! I would pay twice the price knowing how well it has worked for me.

I thought it seemed pretty pricey as well, Lei, but I did notice some usde copies for sale much cheaper.

I think in the meantime i'm going to do some of the other video's I have gotten from her and just do light weights, my limit is 10lb, so I have a set of 3lb weights that will be perfect until the first part of Dec.


Ok I googled ChaLEAN Extreme is it the dvd for $129?? Or am I in the wrong place? If in the wrong place can someone send me the link to the right place?? Also - is this better than Jillian??



I actually got the ChaLEAN Extreme package for $89.95 through www.teambeachbody.com. I think with tax/shipping, it was about $105.

Yes, it is expensive. But $90 for a 90-day program is about $1/day. Not too bad when you look at it that way! And as Sheri says, you get several workouts for the price. I really like "training" with Chalene, who also does my TurboJam workouts.

Plus I have a really awesome Beachbody coach, which is an added bonus of purchasing the CE package. ;)

Yes Lei, the series of DVDs plus the guide book, nutrition book, one set of resistance bands, and the body fat percentage calipers and chart are $129(ish) and worth every single penny. In the Jillian versus Chalene debate, I am a believer that you get what you pay for. Jillian's are much shorter and do not have nearly the science behind them that Chalene's do. Plus Chalene works you hard, but is NICE about it and in my opinion, Chalene is NEVER annoying. I really cannot say that about Jillian;)
