I am done for Monday. Since this is the cardio focus 2 weeks at the end of P90X I figured I would branch out a tiny bit and did Chalene's Burn Intervals. Tiza, you'll laugh at me, but I didn't like them as much as I remembered I did! Now I am certain that workout was why my trapezoid muscles always hurt during CE. Ugh. I stretched a bunch and we'll see how they feel tomorrow.

I'm happy to report after 6 weeks that my upper arms are showing improvement, and I think I will be comfortable in sleeveless tops again.
Jan 2 would be a good beginning, and thanks Melanie for taking this on again!

I have a set of resistance bands with a DVD to go with them but I haven't even given them a try yet.

Sheri and I were bad last night. I have a new recipe for cinnamon candy caramel corn. I'm planning to take some to MT for the holidays. The recipe calls for cooking on top of the stove. But I use the microwave for my regular caramel corn recipe and it's yummy. So we decided we'd better try the recipe using the microwave. So we did and it was wonderful and we ate it all!
I did the 20 minute Turbo Jam this morning. I wanted something long enough to qualify for my sticker but didn't want to do a 40 minute workout. I haven't opened the Rockin'Body workout yet.
Yes, I hope we start again January 2. We'll be traveling to MT and then AZ and hopefully I'll work out some of the time while on the road.

Pat, you can do it! Just think, you've lost 7 lbs.! Most people gain that over the holidays.
Melanie, thanks for volunteering to do the chart again!
I will probably just keep checking in until we start again (accountability is priceless
I'm done for Monday...I got in two-45 minute Taekwondo classes. Lots of sparring..and sweating tonite!

It was an iffy workout, but I did the best I could. On some exercises I was able to increase my weights and still make it through 12 reps. But on others, I did worse than usual. I lowered my weights on the bowlers lunges, but still couldnt get through 8 reps. That one puts a pain in my hip/buttocks, and I can't fully stand up from the lunge position. I hate that exercise. And then once I got to the triple threat pushups, I couldn't even do 6 on my knees before my forearms gave up. Plus, I can never do the tricep pushups - they hurt my shoulders.

I've been using the resistance bands with ChaLEAN since I've been traveling. They fit in my little gym bag and aren't heavy. I think they are a little more variable than weights, but every bit as much workout. I'm just not always sure which one to use or how to vary the tension on them. They are good and portable, but I prefer the hand weights. Also, it was after using the bands that my elbow started hurting more. Could have just been a coincidence. I got a set of 5 different "weights" I ordered from amazon, a lot less expensive than the beach body ones and seem very well made, even has a little bag to tote them in.

Bad time of year for this to happen - GROAN! I have been doing alot of stretching to relieve some of the spasms I'm having in my back and because I hurt so badly, it feels like I've exercised after stretching.
Bummer! I'll make up for it as soon as I can move!
This has been the best month ever - the accountability has kept me going and I really appreciate seeing everything that all of you are doing - it gives me hope!

Thanks, sweet Conda! That meant alot to me - I'm thinking a good massage might help? Checked prices for them and an hour is anywhere from $75 and up! AAARGH! Guess I could ask Rich to put his magic fingers to work?

Sara, I'll be thinking of you and hoping you heal very quickly. Check out various places in your town. Here in my town of 50,000, there is a massage specialist associated with the physical therapy area of the hospital. She usually runs specials around the holidays for an hour massage of about $35. But since you only REALLY need your back done, 30 minutes would be plenty (enough time to also have her do your shoulders and I'd highly recommend a face massage too - helps relieve tension and stress!)

The schedule has not made exercising convenient and I decided not to stress about it. I'm getting done what needs done and will start up again with accountability after the first of the year. Way too many things going on here with kid activities, work, life in general.

Thanks, Cheri - I'm going to call today and see if I can get in an appointment for just that - a back and face massage! That sounds so good. My hair stylist studio has someone on staff who does these and the price is much lower than a "massage parlor" (?) - seems to me it's $35 for the back massage and not sure what the face massage is but it can't be too much. Thanks for the reminder - I was thinking of the big massage place in town where it is very expensive - my daughter had given Rich a GC to that one and the GC was $100 and he used the entire GC on a fancy back massage. Thank you so much - you jogged my memory!

Gayle, I know ice is the way to go for muscle spasms but just the thought of cold makes me shiver - all I want is HEAT even though I know it isn't helpful for the spasms. I will give ice a try today - it was so bad yesterday afternoon that I couldn't get comfortable sitting, lying down and standing was just miserable - what a bummer! Thanks for the ice reminder.
