Bellalea
Hi, I'm trying to get my Stlyes installed in PSE9 on my new computer. I tried Graffis AddoMatic with no luck so I started over. I moved the Layer Styles folder from C/Program Data etc to a new location on C drive and then replaced it with a copy of my Layer Styles folder from the old computer that I had saved on an EHD.Still no luck. Sorry to ask this question again since it has been asked before. I searched past messages but I'm still doing something wrong. BTW Graffis worked perfectly for the actions, just not the styles. Thanks, Novella
teecee
With PSE9 after installing the styles with Add-O-Matic, you need to delete the MediaDatabase.db3 file and allow the PSE database to rebuild. See this free handbook: Scrap Girls ScrapSimple Instructions Handbook. (See page 178 for Windows XP and page 179 for Windows Vista or Windows 7, and page 150 for Mac instructions) I have PSE9 on Windows 7 and I use Add-O-Matic to install my styles and it works perfectly every time once the mediadatabase.db3 file is deleted, and PSE is restarted. (It takes quite a while for PSE database to rebuild) HTH
lorac
What you might have to do is delete your database: First make sure that PSE is not running. If you are sure you’ve correctly installed the style, and they are still not showing up you will need to rebuild your database. This is done simply, so Photoshop Elements will recognize your newly installed items. To do this, delete the mediadatabase.db3 file which will be found in the following path: In Vista/Windows 7 C: > ProgramData> Adobe > Photoshop Elements > YourVersion > Locale > en_us. In this folder you’ll see a file called MediaDatabase.db3, right click on this file and choose “Delete” from the pop up menu and restart Photoshop Elements. This may take a few moments, but once it’s done you should be able to see the new items you installed. Under Effects, choose Layer Styles. From the drop down list choose Show All. Hope that works for you.

But I don't have Win7, so maybe that is the difference.
