Ok I have been playing around all morning and have come up with a page I quite like. Everything I have sourced myself and played around with photoshop making them transparent and such. The background is the only thing I haven't.

This is my first ever one so can you let me know what is wrong with it, what you would do different etc etc.

All criticisms will not damage my ego lol, I just want to do this the best I can so....

Comment away!

I think it's lovely! I love that each picture is framed and "trimmed" to make them special. I really like the colors you've chosen. The only suggestion I might venture (and the layout's fine without this) might be to consider a circle embellishment "under" the three pictures to tie them together a bit. I would hate to hide the pretty background paper partially with a circle mat, but then again, it might work, also.

In any case, give yourself a pat on the back--it's super!

Yes! I see where you are coming from....a little like this maybe (this was just a quick option)

Yes looking at it more and more it adds that extra dimension it needed.

Thank you very much.

Very pretty! Your colors are nice and everything is very feminine, which goes with the photos. My suggest would be to make some room for a title and some journaling. I'd sure like to know the story behind the photos. I think that if you resized everything in a big - just select all of the layers except the bottom one and do it at once, you could squeeze a title in. Add a date entry, too.

I love your layout. The colors and the embellishments are so pretty and soft. The frame on the top one is really lovely. I'll let the experts give the cc. I love it.

Maybe you could at least squeeze the location in at the top of the page. I love knowing that those photos are taken in Australia! I am sure other viewers would too. And the date is super important too. In twenty years when you or someone else comes across this lovely layout, that is the first thing they'll ask. "When was this taken?"

Amazing for your first layout. Really! Good job. :)

Thanks everyone so much for your comments.

By the way I live in Australia, am I the only Aussie here?

I love the change you made. That purple circle behind the photos really ties them all together.

I love that you added a title and some journaling and I think the circle really does help tie them together! Although small changes, they make a big impact on the overall layout. Great job!

I like the changes you made too. I'm with the other designers - I always date my layouts. I don't journal on every layout but I always sneak a date in there somewhere. Recently I had taken my 2011 layout book to share with my grandfather. He asked a couple of times "when was that photo taken". Off the top of my head, I had no clue but since I dated all my layouts it was easy to tell him. Great job on your layout!

I love what you have done, especially the colors and the lovely way you've done the edges of the smaller photos within the frames. It's wonderful that you are so open to suggestions. I really don't have anything new to offer.

We have several Aussie members here at Scrap Girls. Off the top of my head I know that Jo Corne, one of the designers lives in Australia as does KayMitch, prahe, and scrapper11.

Thank you guys so much for all your support and help and suggestions they all helped immensly.

So I am working on another but all of you emphasize dates and journaling so much that I will rework this one...it isn't actually finished yet, but when I finish it you will see a vast improvement and room for a journal.

Once I have finished this one I want to use the same styles I used for the 2 i have shown you to make different pages so I have a set of them to do a book with each.

I am so busy with work and visitors over the next few days though that I won't be able to get much, if any done so you might have to wait to see the end result of this new one I am inserting!

Your first layouts? Wow, I'm super impressed!!! Great job, and I loved seeing the progression of how you added the things that were suggested. You have an instinct for this!

Can't wait to see more!

Wowo, thank you all so much, I want to start to make all my things...backgrounds, embellishments etc etc, I watched the tutorial last night on how you can do that so I will check out the things from here that I can buy to add onto photoshop, I think I could have sooo much fun with that!

Thanks all again.
