Hi, I just registered on the forum because I see that you guys have great participation in digital scrapbooking and seem very knowledgeable about printers.

I'm debating between Epson Artisan 730 and Canon Pixma MG5320. Price is the same after discount: $100.

Epson has more inks, featuring light magenta and light cyan in addition to CMYK. That sounds like it'll produce much better color gradient. Canon's ink is just CMYK, but its print resolution is much higher, at 9600 x 2400. Epson's print resolution is 5760 x 1440, which is already higher than most printers.

I want the printer to print color photos for photo album and scrpbook purposes, and also print digital scrapbook embellishments like e-cuts. So I'll use either photo paper or cardstock. I think # of inks is more important in photographs, while resolution is important if using heavy cardstock, is that correct? But can we naked eyes really tell the difference between 5760x1440 and 9600x2400?

What do you think? What's your experience?
