Oh hey, Ro.... I meant to tell you. Last night I dreamed that you were running in a marathon and you made me join you for the final 4 miles. But I woke up before we could finish.

Took my 30-Day measurements... no inches lost during the Burn month on CE. Although I did lose 2 pounds over that month. If there is muscle on my body, it's still in hiding. Quite discouraging. Grrrr

Oh, and I don't know how much TV everyone watches, but some of you might want to watch/record these:

on "Live! With Kelly"
1/2/12: Model Tyra Banks; reality star Ben Flajnik; fitness coach Chalene Johnson; co-host Mark Consuelos.
1/3/12: Actor William H. Macy; designer Isaac Mizrahi; exercise instructor Tony Horton; co-host Jim Parsons.

I haven't been very good about checking in but I've been diligent about doing some kind of exerciese everyday - walking - alot - and bike riding most days - still going to start at the gym in January if all goes ell. Having a few little medical issues that I need to have taken care of but I'm determined.

So far today I've done half my workout, and will probably go ahead and finish up before bed.
I'm a little discouraged. I went in to get my bandage changed today, and the surgeon said that instead of one of the bones healing properly, it is getting thinner. Apparently this is not unheard of, but he may go back in and insert a permanent wire. I do have a lot of confidence in him. It's just that it will be 8 weeks Friday, and I never dreamed I would still be struggling so much. :(

That's so disappointing that you're dealing with complications. I'll continue praying for your recovery. You are such an inspiration with your dedication to continuing to work out during all this!

Hang in there, Gayle! I'm sorry that news is discouraging, but I'm glad you can trust your doctor. You've done an amazing job with the Shred, keep up that spirit!

Today is a CE rest day...and although I haven't been resting (lol), I did not do a work out! My back is killing me tonight (started this afternoon) and now I'm wondering if it is because I didn't work out. ????

Friday DONE! CE burn circuit 2. I can barely do this, but I am doing it! I'm doing it! I'm not whipping out. I'm 60 years old, 70 pounds overweight and I'm doing ChaLEAN extreme. I never ever would have even tired this if it weren't for all of you inspiring me and encouraging me. It may take me 6 months to get trough it the first time and maybe have to do it 2 or 3 times to really be able to do it, but I'm DOING it! can you tell that a good workout really gets me pumped up? LOL. Happy friday everyone. Go get your burn on.

Took a 30-minute walk yesterday to get dinner on my way home, but I didn't have the strength or desire to do ChaLEAN. That stupid nagging headache/neckache stuck around from the time I left my apartment yesterday (6am) until the time I went to bed (9:30pm).

My goal is to do Burn Circuit 2 this morning, and then Burn Intervals / Abs tonight, which will get me back on my schedule.

Tried doing Burn Circuit 2 today. Could only get through half of it. Every exercise was causing aches in my lower back just above my tailbone. I made sure that my back was flat and my abs were pulled in, and kept trying to modify my position or go to lighter weights, but nothing would help. So I quit. And now I'm in a really angry mood.

I had about 3 days of the Burn month where my back hurt and I just took about 4 days off and went back in gently. It happens to all of us sometimes, and you'll do fine. *hugs* Take it a little easy, maybe try another activity for a couple days, and get back in the CE game again:)

I had been having some slight pain in my lower groin area and since it was just an ache mostly, ignored it - til today when It became so painfrul that I went to see my doc.I was not happy with her diagnosis as it appears that I have a hernia now and am seeing a surgeon as soon as they get the referral - she did a thorough exam, felt the "hole" in that area and told me not to do anything more strenuous - I can ride the bike for short periods but not for my usual half hour and I can walk but not run. Her consult with the surgeon confirmed that it was a hernia and she said that it will require surgery to repair it. So, I'm really bummed out now - didn't need this with everything else going on right now with Christopher - I needed to be strong and able to help him manage his emotional issues and just the thought of surgery has made me a crazy person. Ever since I had the very serious surgery on my ankle requiring a muscle graft taken from my back, I have prayed that I would never have surgery again and I am just plain scared of this upcoming surgery.

So, I'll do the best I can - and as much as I can so don't count me out just yet please. Doc said surgery would probably be scheduled within a week and I am having my own little meltdown right now.

The gnood news is that I will be able to spend more time on the computer while recovering and more good news in that I can't lift anything heavy (like a llaundry basket) up from the laundry room - ah, the sacrifices - the bad news is that Rich is going to have to carry the load for me while I recover! Poor guy - the guilt I'm feeling is awful - he just can't work and do everything around here too, but what is, is...........

And today is our 45th wedding anniversary - Rich sent me a huge bouquet of roses and it was such a surprise and I was tickled to death.

So, I'm going to try and do what I can so I can still be a part of the Shred.

I understand that angry mood, Tiza, but just think of all of the progress you have made - its okay to be angry - it's just your body telling you to do a little less for awhile - you;ve been working so hard and I'm so proud of you. Don't beat yourself up over this!

Oh hey, Ro.... I meant to tell you. Last night I dreamed that you were running in a marathon and you made me join you for the final 4 miles. But I woke up before we could finish.

Now... wouldn't that be something? Me... running a marathon? Whoop! I'd love to see me do it.

My heart is just not into these workouts anymore. I tried doing Burn Intervals today on Laylee's low-intensity level. By the 8-minute mark, I was sore and tired and cursing up a storm. By the halfway point, I stopped the DVD and quit and punched my closet door. I don't if I'm just having a bad week, or I'm moody from hormones, or I'm mad that I had NO physical results after the whole first month, or I'm already bored with this program, or a combination of all of those. Even telling myself that Conda & Angie & Sandi & everyone else is pushing through these workouts isn't motivating me. I feel like such a failure.
