Task 10" Speedbump: Completed

I just spent a while browsing through Ang Campbell's Gallery. I was first struck by how many beautiful layouts she's created of her family. And, that is what I learned - how very important Ang's family is to her.

This layout to me was so totally special and very touching. It shows her Grandparents' holding hands. So beautiful.

I learned how important Family Love is to Ang...

Layout: Love Eternal

Big warm fuzzies here! Thanks Marilyn! I'm really glad that my love of family comes across in my layouts. I create my layouts for my family so I'm glad that love comes across!

Mwah! :lovey-smilie:

REMINDERS

Everyone has been doing a great job with the tasks so far. There are even some who have all of the tasks done correctly, and the JJ Gallery looks wonderful! :daisy:

While checking the tasks, we have been finding some errors and would like everyone to have a chance to correct them. Since we are half way through the game, now might be a good time to do this. I've listed the most common errors below. You may want to go back through the thread task by task, and be sure you have followed the task instructions, so we will be able to give you proper credit and increase your chances of winning. (Just one incomplete task could make you ineligible for prizes)

There are still quite a few posts with no task numbers. (Please be sure you have listed each appropriate task number in your posts).

There are quite a few product links posted which do not link back to the products as they should. (Click on your links to be sure they take you to the products).

There are quite a few layout links which do not link back to the Jumpstart January Gallery. (Click on your links to be sure they take you to the JJ Gallery).

There are several posts which have task numbers, but the task number doesn't match the task instructions. (Review your posts to be sure the task number matches the instructions).

Here are some general linking instructions which may be helpful:

1. Go to the page you want to link to

2. Highlight the address in your browser window at the top of the page (With my browser, I only have to click once in the browser window and it highlights the address)

3. Press Ctrl+C (this will copy the address)

4. Go to your post and type the words you want to be the link and highlight them

5. Click on the insert link button (to the right of the smiley face)

6. A box will pop up – just press Ctrl+V (this will paste the address into the box)

7. Click on Insert Link at the bottom of that box that popped up.

You will see what looks like a bunch of gibberish in your post, but when you preview it you should just see your post with your link text underlined. If you hover your mouse over the underlined text, it should turn purple.

8. Finish typing your comment and click the Post button at the bottom of the page.

If you find that you need to need to make corrections, you can simply edit your post(s) by going to the bottom right of your post window and clicking on the Edit button. Then you can delete incorrect information and/or add corrections.

If you need more help, don't hesitate to post your questions in this thread or send a PM to me or another Welcoming Committee member.

Have fun and good luck! ;)

TASK # 10

This is really difficult … how to pick one out of the fabulous Design Team? Last year I picked Brandy Murry and I still love her work.

But this year, I discovered the rich colours and textures of Syndee Nuckles work. I love the whimsical SpellboundNano and Oz Collection. And I’ve enjoyed using her AYO Collage Art Ladies Elements, the lovely vintage Well Travelled Collection and the myriad of Scrap Simple templates Syndee has given us, but I was “blown away” when I saw the Picturesque Collection, I just had to have that wonderful Paper Roses paper. Thanks Syndee, I look forward to another year of goodies!

Syndee loves Louis Vuitton, spicy food and Hugh Lawrie, not necessarily in that order!

Here’s a link to one of my favourite Syndee Knuckles layouts, Savor the Moment.

January14th – Task 12

Choose one of the five layouts chosen in Task #11 to "scrap-lift." Select photos for your scrap-lifted layout.

Reminder: There will be no task posted tomorrow, so it may be a good time to catch up on unfinished tasks and make any corrections needed as mentioned in this post

The game will resume as usual on Monday. :)

Task # 7

The list of products I have in my stash, but haven't used yet would be very long. Here are a few that caught my eye when I just looked though:

Brandy Murray's Sweet Cakes Embellishments

Amanda Sok's Vanilla Plum Pudding

Brandy Murray's Paper Templates: Curves 8501

(I confess, I picked ones I could use together first, but I can't wait to use Jan Ransley's Edgers - Nature's Bounty & Making Waves)

Task # 12 Complete

I picked a layout from my 5 recent favorites to scraplift and have a photo to use in it.

I always check and re-check my links, but after Theresa's warning had already gone back again and done that this morning.

See ya' Monday - have a nice weekend, all! :)

Task 10: A Little designer love

This one took me quite a while, because Brandy Murry is just plain amazing! I enjoyed browsing her layouts, gathering inspirations. I love her whimsical femininity, and the way she creates with amazing love.

So what did I learn? Oh, where to begin? So much of her create style speaks to me, but I just can't resist this one:

My lucky, lucky friend!

TASK # 4: Complete, Layout here

TASK # 5: Complete

TASK # 6: Complete

My products are all unzipped, I spent a few weeks after Christmas doing a big organization and try and keep up with it now. My parent folders are Paper, Embellishments, Alpha, Pattern Overlay, Photoshop Addons, Tutorials, Collections

Each folder is broken down in to sub folders, Paper is sorted by colour, Embellishments gets more difficult with frames, brads buttons etc and then colour

I also keep my collection together in a seperate folder so I can scrap by collection or search my stuff for that missing something.

TASK 7: Complete

ScrapSimple Paper Templates: 8.5x11 Blendability

8.5x11 Squeaky Clean Collection Biggie

Renew Collection Biggie

TASK 8: Complete
