Task #2 - Done

I loved this photo that I took out a window while it was snowing (a rare treat for us.) I played around with some blending modes and actions, and ended up liking this one the best.

First, I cropped the photo to remove the distracting window frame.

Then I used the action MRE_PhotoBasics_SmartGlow, which softened it and gave it a glow, while leaving the details easy to see.

January 4th – Task 3

Search the ScrapGirls Boutique to find three products that would work well with your photos from Task #2.

Requirement: Share links to those three products in this thread.

Reminder

From the opening post: "When you post a task requirement to this thread always remember to label it with "TASK #..." so you get credit for the correct task."

As the game progresses, it will become increasingly difficult for the welcoming committee team to keep track of which tasks are being completed if they are not numbered, so please remember to label your tasks with the correct task number ;)

If you have already posted tasks which are not labeled with the task number(s), you can go back and edit the post so you can add the task number. Just go to your original post and click on the Edit button at the bottom right of the window, then add the appropriate task number to your post.

Task #3, January 4 -- Here are my 3 choices:

Glitzy Green -- http://store.scrapgirls.com/product/24550/glitzy-Green-Collection-Super-Mini

Christmas Whimsy -- http://store.scrapgirls.com/product/7252/christmas-Whimsy-Collection-Mini

Cottage Christmas -- http://store.scrapgirls.com/product/24620/Cottage-Christmas-Collection-Biggie

I think my sepia photos would look nice with a pale green Christmas theme.

TASK 3

http://store.scrapgirls.com/product/7783/Resolutions-Collection - Resolutions Collection

http://store.scrapgirls.com/product/21548/Brush-Set%3A-Happy-New-Year - Brush Set: Happy New year

http://store.scrapgirls.com/product/19326/Dynamic-Brush-Set%3A-Confetti-6301-Mini - Dynamic Brush Set: Confetti 6301 Mini

My photos were from New Year's Eve so I think any of these would work with them.

Task 1: done, photos downloaded

Task 2: done - I fixed the red eye, cropped the people making faces on the edges of the photo & adjusted the level downward a little which brightened the colors no end - this started about 1pm and the light was so bright, everything was washed out.

Task 3: decisions, decisions, I think maybe the following would be good:

Cottage Christmas by Brandy Murray

Christmas Edgers by Jan Randal

Winter's Hush by Syndee Nuckles

Task #2 done!

I auto corrected curves, then sharpened, used both a cooling and a warming action (they didn't cancel each other out), sharpened some more, and then added a quick edge burn. I think I'm satisfied with it, but could change my mind at any time!
