Have you picked a 'word' for this year? If so, are you going to Scrap about it? I'd love to hear your ideas and see your pages if you do.

My word is Simplify. I'm still working on how I'm going to scrap it, because I'm pretty sure I'm going to frame it and hang it up so I can see it.

Okay I thought of a word for 2012 - Prosper! Add new clients, generate more work AND keep three kids happily alive!

keeping your kids alive is a very good one. I like your work, Laura. Prosper has so many ways of looking at it.

Are you going to make a page or anything about it?

And I'll be checking for your "simplified" layout!

I've been pondering a word and I think I've settled on RELEASE...as in: let go of things you cannot control. The layout is on my to-do list. Hopefully I'll get around to it before the year is over!

I'm sticking with my word from 2011...which I didn't really get very far on...but that makes my decision for 2012 that much easier. My word is CHOICE! I have a choice in how I use my time, how I respond to people or situations, what road I will take. I am not at the whim of others or my surroundings. Also...I AM CHOICE! (as in the 80's catch phrase meaning awesome and most excellent! lol) And I am chosen by God too. I love this word...need to scrap it soon...so I don't forget!

Love your words, Ann, Laura and Chere. I'm interested to see what others choose.

I've got to spend some time thinking about this.
The first thing that comes to mind is: Organize.
Which covers numerous things for me. And in doing so, would include simplifying and de-cluttering.

ooooo, these are good words!! I can't wait to see how people stick to these and how it expresses itself in their art. I'm wondering if I should scrap monthly about it and see how I'm doing. This has been on my mind for a while!

I started thinking about this in November. Last year my word was Trust. What a doozie!! Anyways, I thought this year it would be "Humble" - based on some reading I'd been doing and the fact that I kept coming across this word in all my reading. But just yesterday, I realized it is going to be Shine, after reading and thinking about Matt 5, where it talks about letting your light shine. I already scrapped/journaled a page about it yesterday - so fun! Am doing a base page digitally (8.5x11), then printing it out and doodling & journaling on it. It's going to be a fun year, I think.

I haven't done a word before, but my main goal of the year is to put all my printed pages IN ALBUMS! They have been in piles in the basement for about 3 years now without getting in albums. I used to place everything chronologically in family albums (except baby book stuff through age 1), but about 3 years ago decided to have a family album and albums for each of our 3 boys. So lots more piles, and I didn't want to insert pages in albums until I had certain years done so it could be chronological. Yeah, well, that basically led to a big mess. So I'm going to get it cleaned up! Everything is already sorted (as of today) into piles for each album. As soon as the place I have pages printed at (scrappingsimply.com) has their next sale, I'll print my last 6 months of pages since my last print, and meanwhile I'm looking for coupons and sales at my semi-local SB store to buy albums and page protectors to put all these pages in.

Maybe my word should be COMPLETE (as in, complete all those niggling little projects I have the materials for) lol

I think I'm going to add "niggling" to my list....LOL! I've never seen that one before, though it's a spectacular word! THanks for sharing, Cheri. And COMPLETE looks like a fab choice!

I'm with you Charlene. Organize will be mine too as it covers so many things. Being organized means I'm relaxed and can happily spend my time helping others. So many good words though. Kay

Mine is play (creatively). I have been so focused on caregiving the past year, I haven't touched my sewing machine since about March. Now that the caregiving is winding down, I want to play instead of worry about results.
I'm not able to use the foot pedal on my sewing machine yet, but I am doing some 4x6 LOs.

So many great words and goals being shared! Maybe I really will have to do a layout...

I *love* the words being chosen. The nice thing about this is that there ARE no wrong answers.

I like things like that. It's a no lose situation!

My word is 'BALANCE' This year I'm going to balance my leisure time (laziness) with excercise, dieting, healthy eating and with enjoying life (entertaining). Hope I can achieve more 'BALANCE' in my life.

I've loved reading everyone's words! I know which direction I want to go for the year, but not sure yet if I want to narrow it down to a word yet or not... need to think about what word would work. I am excited about this new year though and it's many possibilities!

We pick a family word every year and this year we chose Adaptable. With the move coming up in June and the transition, we decided that Adaptable would be a good one. We've used Flexible and Patience in the past, too.

Great words everyone!

My word this year is ACTION. I'm the sort of person who can get lost in my thoughts, dreams, plans, wishes, goals, but am often lacking in the execution phase of actually doing. So this is the year to ACT on all my plans in order to realized my goals and dreams and to increase my ACTIVITY by regular exercise.

Some great word choices here. I like Debbie's idea of keeping last year's word. Mine was "Focus" and somewhere along the way I lost mine (probably during the move from California to Texas!!) But I really need to get some focus back into my life as I fel like I have let some rather important things slide with the excuse of adjusting to the move.

Here is the layout I did last year of my word, and I also did a desktop for it so I would see it on the computer. But if I use it again this year, I will probably do a new layout.

I picked a word... it's Freedom... from myself mostly and what I think others want me to be and not just who I want to be! NO restrictions!!

I never thought of making a page about it and framing it. I like that idea might have to make one this year!!

My word for the year is Accept. I have a long post about it on my blog but to sum up...

Acceptance pretty much sums up my goals for this year. In order to move on I need to must ACCEPT that some things are out of my control. It doesn’t mean that I can’t make changes and improvements, as that is just part of living in my opinion. It just means that in order to move on I need to accept myself, leave the things from the past in the past, and be open so I can accept the things to come in the future. Good is all I need this year! Don’t we all!!!

Awesome choice, Pebbles. Acceptance of things out of our control is so amazingly difficult and freeing all at once. Love it!

I love reading about everyone's words! My word for 2012 is perspective. I feel like mine has been out of wack for a couple of years. I think I made some strides last year to help bring it back in line and I want to continue in that journey. I've been thinking about my page and what direction I want to go...I will be sure to upload it once it's complete. I hope to see more of your layouts too :)
