Hi There!

A warm hello to everyone:) Just thought I'd share a quick funny story: About 3 years ago I dove into learning CS3 all on my own (not knowing ScrapGirls even existed). I literally spent about a good 6 months trying to learn many things. Unfortunately, I walked away from the program and forgot everything! FYI: Don't do this:) So, a couple of days ago, I stumbled upon this site- bought PhotoShop Secrets, and a kit, and have been up for the last 24 hours:) However, Folgers and Bailey's will only last so long....HeHe! How things are done are beginning to slowly come back, but I've hit a road block (I highly doubt the lack of sleep has anything to do with it:)

Problem: I know how to rescale an object. However, after scaling the embellishment to the size I need it (a ribbon), it is now not long enough to go across the page with. How do I fix this???????

Thanks so much:)

Sincerely,

NEED SLEEP:)

Hi and welcome back in the saddle, and to Scrap Girls! First, maybe get some sleep, lol.

As to your question - if I'm understanding you right, you've scaled a ribbon down to the width you want, but scaling it proportionately left you too short? If you just change the length, it will look distorted, right?

One thing I've done in this case is to duplicate the ribbon, so you have two exact copies. Then layer one over the other, staggered, so that you have the length you want. Erase one ribbon in the area of the overlap. Then I'll creatively place a coordinating bow or other embellishment where the two intersect to hide the seam.

Welcome to Scrap Girls, LouHoo. I would do the same exact thing that Elisha mentioned. There really is not a way to keep the width you want and increase the length without some distortion. At least that I know of.

You will learn so much with the Photoshop Secrets Revealed. Hopefully we will be seeing your pages in the gallery soon.

Yep, these ladies know of which they speak, ribbon wise. Welcome & looking forward to seeing your completed layout. Good advice about the software and a really long nap sounds like a good idea, too.

thanks! I'm finally off to sleep:)

Welcome to ScrapGirls! We're happy to have you here. :) I do the same thing Elisha mentioned with the ribbons. Occasionally I can get them to line up so I don't need to cover where they intersect. Ribbon slide or bead is another handy way to cover up where the two meet.

Thanks:)

Welcome! I love your humor. Thanks for stopping by to introduce yourself. Don't hesitate to ask if you have other questions.

Thanks! LOL! I think I've had waaaaayyy too much coffee for one day. My poor feet are swollen from sitting here all day. My husband and our oldest son were beginning to wonder if my hind end was glued to the chair. Poor guys...they only got chicken nuggets and french fries for dinner. My son said that he sure was glad I made such a "special meal" before he went back to college- LOL!!!! Thanks again:)
