I would like to either print out the tutorial re: using templates to alter 12x12 paper into 8.5 x 11 format or copy it to my computer. Is that permissible and, if so, how should it be done? Thanks for your advice.

I don't see why it wouldn't be permissible as long as it's only for your personal use as reference. If you want to share with a friend, you need to forward the entire newsletter so that all of the copyright information stays attached.
For printing or saving, I highlight the article (by dragging my mouse from the beginning of the article to the end, making sure I get the writer's name for credit) and then copy it (ctrl-c) and paste it (ctrl-v) into a Word document. That pastes in all of the photos, too. :-)

Yay! Glad it worked! I've done that with quite a few of the tutorials and tips. I have a folder for "scrap tips" in my Documents folder.

I copy paste tutorials into One Note (or you could usr Evernote) and save them all. This way you don't have to print them all. Save paper ink and space.

I've never tried those, I'll have to take a look. I think Evernote is on my Netbook.

Well, as I have Evernote, I will try it. Guess I just never thought of using it. Thanks again for all the suggestions. It's nice to know what others do.

If you get a chance, check out A Fair(y) Use Tale from the Stanford Law School Center for Internet and Society. It helped me straighten out what is and isn't fair use.
