I thought I checked in yesterday, but I guess not!

Monday - 25 minute workout and tracked my points and activity at WW online. :)

Tuesday - still a work in progress, but I've done my exercise (32-ish minutes) and am off to track my points so far.

Also? No snacking yesterday! That's my biggest challenge.

No snacking is great! That is such a hard habit to break.

The soup sounds great Sara! I don't have any idea how you can make brownies and not eat one. The smell alone would push me over the edge.

WTG everyone on working hard to meet your goals!

I used one of my weekly points today, but it was for cashews, so I didn't feel too bad! Otherwise I did pretty good and we even went to McDonalds for breakfast. I know I need to drink more water, but right now I am just focusing on less soda-I have been doing more herbal teas with the Keurig.

You are welcome Wendee. It's for selfish reasons, I am hoping the accountability keeps me on track!

Good for you Jaymee! Dh brought me a Venti Caramel Frappucino from Starbucks, VENTI!! Hello it's like 15 points! I though it was sweet of him, but I only drank about a third of it, then gave the rest to my kiddos.

Oh, those darn good intentions! Good for you for enjoying a bit without overdoing it. Moderation in all things, right? I'm pretty sure that VENTI is the opposite of MODERATE. LOl!

I completely understand what you are saying, Wendee. I have tried so many times to improve my charting habits, just to get overwhelmed and give up. That is why for this month I'm just going to journal what I eat and try to make smart choices. It will help me stay on track, without being too overwhelming. If I can build momentum with that habit this month, then I can start really counting points.

Great job getting your water in! That's a really important habit--I'm going to work on that too.

Day two (Tuesday): I wrote down all my food today. I thought twice about snacking, "Do I really want to have to write that down?" Helps with the BLT's too: Bites, Licks, and Tastes!

What a great idea!! Melanie I love the chart. Hmm I have to think about what I want to be accountable for. Hmm. Let me think this one over for a bit.
My family has given up fast food for over 1 year now. We don't even miss it! Actually me and My daughter passed a Mcdonald's the other day and we both agreed the smell that came from the place smelled like burned fat( lard or something) it was so repulsive to us now. But I think I'm ok and don't need to chart that any longer. Hmm getting healthy... hmmm I wonder waht I could do. I'm not dieting but I just want to get healthy and eat more nutricous foods. not empty calorie foods ( like my cola that I can cut back on but still can't live without. )
Let me think this one over for a while.
But I do want to say congratulations for everyone else who has signed up and is being accountable to the group for whatever their goals are. That is waht makes this group so special we all have goals but they are all different. :) I love being part of this group!!

I kept within my carb limits today.

Wendee, it's important to honor and celebrate all the baby steps. We're on this journey for the rest of our lives, and baby steps will keep us moving in the right direction.

I'm just under my calorie target again today. I'm tracking water too. So far today I've consumed 88 ounces of water.

I did get my water in on Tue, but that's about it. Starting today i'm going to start tracking what I eat/calories. Since I don't have a Itouch or smart phone i'll be using the my fitness pal online, which will work best for me anyways as I can just have the tab open when i'm online and that will be a good reminder. This thread will help me be accountable for actually tracking..let's see how this works, i've been really bad in the past with writing down what I eat

I think i'm going to track my water in take. I can't seem to get a hang of it unless it's hot outside and I know I should drink water all year long. So I am going to try that!! So yesterday I only drank 4 glasses I'm aiming for 8.

I've been really tracking my water...and am doing pretty well...but dang it......I get tired of running up and down the stairs to GO...LOL....guess I will consider those bonus calories burned! LOL

I am using MFP and have the app on my phone and tablet, but recently learned it's easiest if I have a tab open on my computer, so I use it mainly.

I read a tip on drinking water: in the morning put 8 rubber bands around your wrist, every time you finish a cup of water take one off. I have heard a tip to put the rubber bands around a refillable water bottle instead of your wrist, and take one off every time you finish a bottle.

I use a Diet Minder Food and Fitness Journal for tracking and keep it on the kitchen counter. (It comes in purple!) I use a Bodybugg for tracking calories burned and have been entering what I eat in that system too. I don't love the food tracking part of Bodybugg since it has a few quirks. I've found I still have to put it on paper in the kitchen since I tend to get sidetracked with other things when I sit down at the computer. That is what is working for me.

Wednesday accomplished so far! Still no snacking! That's so hard for me. I've charted my food again today, and am doing better than yesterday. Dinner yesterday was a bit overboard, but hubby got his first check from the new job and we celebrated. :)

I've also cut back a bit on my morning coffee.

Well Wed has actually been a success and so far tracking my food hasn't been that hard. I do like My Fitness Pal, as it does the calories for you, you can also track water on there. My main meal I eat is lunch time, then I do a meal replacement shake for dinner...so with figuring that in it looks like I will hit my calories for the day (including more protein than needed) and I got my water in earlier than normal so I actually got 128oz instead of 96oz....and hopefully I won't be up all night long like normal LOL

Had those brownies been my chocolate chip cookies with pecans, I could NOT have resisted! I'd have had at least one from every batch I baked! :) :)

If I drank all the water I'm supposed to, I'd be up several times dueing the night, Angie! I try to stop drinking much around 7 pm - reminds me of how I used to stop my kids from drinking water before bedtime when I was potty training them! Oh, my! :) ;) ;)

Is it fairly easy to do your dinner with a meal replacement drink, Angie? I've been really wanting to have my main mean at lunch because by the time we eat supper I begin to feel so loaded down at night. I do the meal replacement around mid morning now and I'd love to try it instead of supper - just wondering if you get hungry before bedtime?

I've been doing the herbalife shakes since April of last year. I have them for 2 meals a day. I make mine with their Protein Drink Mix (instead of milk), their forumla one (flavor of choice) and for the AM shake I add extra protein. They fill me up pretty good. I generally will have one between 9-10 in the AM (depending on when i'm done working out...will have a piece of fruit before the workout) then lunch about 1, and my last shake about 5-6. I started that in January, as Gary started doing them also, so we just use that for dinner (the boys will have one alot of the time also) But I never get hungry before bedtime...and if I do I drink another glass of water

Thanks, Angie! Herbalife is sold by distributors, isn't it? I think I remember seeing an ad somewhere for it......just curious as to where you buy it. With these three pounds I've gained back and no exercise I need to change something for sure!

Terrible day! Dh has got to go back to work (he has been on vacation for a few days) We went out to bfast and I only ate 2eggs and a piece of sourdough toast-not terrible. Then tonight we went to Pappadeaux's and I had shrimp en brochette (bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese and a jalapeno) I don't know about points yet, but I will journal it and see.

Yeah, it's sold by distributors. We have nutrition clubs around here, that you can get it from. Im sure if you look up their website you can find distributors in your area

I stayed within my carb allotment today (Wed). now to concentrate a little more on the quality of the carbs.
Is anyone doing the glycemic index thing?

Terrible day! Dh has got to go back to work (he has been on vacation for a few days) We went out to bfast and I only ate 2eggs and a piece of sourdough toast-not terrible. Then tonight we went to Pappadeaux's and I had shrimp en brochette (bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese and a jalapeno) I don't know about points yet, but I will journal it and see.

Yeah, it's been 15 years, but I'm sad to say I'm still wearing the Pappadeaux's and Pappasito's I sooooo enjoyed when we lived in Texas! Was it worth it.....tough call! It's a good thing I live across the continent from my biggest weakness!
