Kind of a random thought for me to post here, but I thought I would share this with you.
Reading Brandy's bit about her eyes in the newsletter got me thinking about something a friend of mine told me once. She likes to do a bit of cleaning at night like mopping the floors and wiping down the counters, and other general tidy up type stuff. One night she went to bed thinking, "Yea, I did a pretty good job." In the morning when she got up, the sun was shining through the window onto her floors and counters. In this light she noticed that there were spots that she had missed. The morning light helped her see what she missed when she was working in the dark.
I think sometimes our lives are like that as well. I don't always notice when that I'm working out of focus or in the dark either. Then God steps in and shows me what I've missed. Most of the time it's as simple as turning on a light. Like seeing how beautiful my daughter's smile is even though she just dumped a glass of milk on the floor. Now I can laugh and hug her instead of growl and stomp off to clean it up.
I am so grateful for those times when my life is put into focus, for those Kairos moments.
(Kairos is my word of the year.)

What a wonderful analogy Annalee, I didn't think of it that way, but you are right, you just turned on a light bulb for anyone reading this post.

Analee, its so funny, just the other day I was reading about kairos moments, mentioned it in an email to a couple of good friends, and now you mention it here. When a certain word keeps popping up and kairos is not a commonly used word, it may have special meaning. I'm glad its your word for the year.

I love your "kairos" moment. I'm trying to remember these things too. I'm finding i'm too tough on my kids or freak out over spilled milk and there is no point but by the time I realize that I have gone off the deep end. thanks for helping me to remember that spilled milk is just spilled milk!
