After sharing some of my Brandy Ultimate Artist watercolor designs with friends, I began to get photos emailed to me pleading for ‘painted’ versions--a sure sign that we have a winning product here!
When I had finished making a photo frame-sized version of this adorable shot of the two brothers, the title immediately came to mind, so I couldn’t stop until I had created a layout around it. This is my first LO using something from this action since I’ve been too busy just turning photos into watercolor paintings-LOL. Told you I wouldn’t be able to stop using this fabulous action set!
I hope everyone keeps adding example links to this Topic. Makes a one-spot place to find them all.

I did another one this week too, but it is for a new collection so it should be up before the weekend. I'll post it when I can.

It really works well for pet portraits, doesn’t it? I love the B&W look with the brown eyes and the way she picked up some of his body as well as the head. She also added some great extra texture, too. Grand job!!

Thank you so much!
Here's another link which contains a little info about Onyx.

A magnificent rendering of an old covered bridge that is TOTALLY different than all of the others I’ve seen. It’s kind of like a colored pencil drawing.
You must go see . . . Ann'sCoveredBridge

Wasn't that beautiful?? I think she experimented with some different brushes and I loved her result.

What version do you have Jenna? It works in PSE 9 & 10. So if you have 9 you could use it.
Good luck with the Camera!

The ‘outline’ layer (which is what you ‘see’ after the action does it’s job) is very faint due to a ‘cover’ layer above it; and I found it easier to ‘paint’ with that top ‘cover’ layer ‘turned off’, at least for the initial brush work.
You DO need the right landscape/scene/people photo to make it work well, but I think pretty much any flower or flower close-up photos work great with the action. I tried some dog photos the other day, and found them a bit difficult because I kept picking up dark bkg or bkg objects when I painted (unfortunately, the dogs were white and partially light-colored, where the color is not picked up with the brushing). So I created them with partial faces showing and that looked great. I also reversed the mask color and with the brush really small, deleted things I didn’t like ‘picked up’. My Yorkie can be found at:
Finn
My nephew’s Westie can be found at:
Rufus
Next I might try extracting the main object out of some photos before I use the action. Also, one might try taking a picture of people, kids, & pets with a very light-colored wall/backing behind them (or a one-color bkg like the grass in Katie’s).
PS – EVERYONE has done such a great job with the action set! But then, Brandy has made it SO easy for us-LOL! And yes, if you like the look you can achieve, it is definitely worth getting PSE10 (Brandy also found that it works with PSE9).
You sold me on it! I've a few photos of children I'd love to work with using the product.
