I've started this LO from my cousin's wedding and I'm not sure how its going. The grey square are going to have pictures in them (just waiting on my cousin for specific ones), but I feel like the rest of LO is a little plain. Maybe its just me, as I have a tendency to try and fill the whole page with photos. Do you think it needs something else? Also, see the itty bitty grey squares around the big picture ... what should I put in those as photos wouldn't really be visible? I think I managed to use the colour swatch action properly, so I like the colours ... but do you think the background is ok too? Not too bland? Suggestions? Thanks for looking!

oh and this is part 1 of a 2 double page spread

I've posted the updated version after considering all your suggestions ... take a look and let me know what you think...

I love what you have started! For the little squares behind the photo, I would add a paper to those instead of a photo. Maybe add some ribbon or flower embellishments behind and along the photos for a little bit more interest. I can't wait to see the finished layout. It's going to be gorgeous no matter what you decide!!

You are off to a great start. I agree with everything that Carla suggested.

Wow, I think the colors are lovely; the neutral background lets the photo shine, and the green picks up and "pops" the green dress.

My only thought, and it's optional, is to consider swapping the two sides of the layout. Why? The people in the photo are mostly looking to the left. So I tend to prefer those photos on the right-hand side of a right-hand page in a double layout. However, it may depend a lot on the other other photos. It's only a thought, and not critical. If they were separate layouts, I doubt I'd have even noticed.

In any case, the layout is off to a beautiful start; I hope to see it as you progress.

I've definitely been playing around with the left and right side Barbara, not sure which I like best yet though.

I think that once your other photos are in, you will be able to decide what your layoutt still needs. So far I'm liking it , a lot. Love the template.

I like where you're going with this layout - it is clean, simple and elegant. I hear what you're saying about feeling it might be to sparse. I do think once your other photos are in, you'll be better able to judge what you need.

I was thinking that you might add some black swirls behind your main photo? Some that peek out from behind it and sort of give it a frame feel. Just something that helps emphasize the main photo but doesn't overpower everything around it.

Play with it some and post an update so we can encourage you along!

This suggestion might be a matter of taste and it might not work out when you try it, but have you tried using color on your title? I like the idea of something behind your photo as well.

Hope this helps.

Barbara has a good suggestion and if you'd rather keep it in the same position, you could always flip the photo so it's where you want it and the people face "in" to the LO. I know that changes the "integrity" of the photo, but this is creativity - so if that doesn't bother you, you could try it and see how it looks.
