March 2012 Scrap Girls Monthly Forum Game

Simple Steps to Super Scrapping

This month’s Scrap Girls Forum game, Simple Steps to Super Scrapping, is designed to help you get more scrapbook pages done with a series of Simple Steps that add up to a finished page at the end of each week.

Throughout March, Monday through Saturday, a team member will post a daily layout step in the Simple Steps to Super Scrapping game thread; the first week has 9 steps, and the remaining three weeks have 6 steps each. These steps will be posted in large purple font so they will be easy to spot in this thread.

Save your layouts as PSD files so you can work on them day by day. Occasionally we will require you to post your partially completed layout as an attachment in this thread so we can see your progress. Instructions for posting as an attachment will be provided.

Members who complete the steps required in the game thread and post all 4 layouts in the Simple Steps to Super Scrapping Gallery will be entered in a drawing for one of two $15.00 Scrap Girls Boutique Gift Certificates.

Each completed layout posted in the Simple Steps to Super Scrapping Gallery, up to 4 per member, will be entered in a drawing for one of three $5.00 Scrap Girls Boutique Gift Certificates.

You have until 11:59 pm MT on March 31, 2012 to complete the steps and post your layouts to the Simple Steps to Super Scrapping Gallery.

Note: Required steps will be noted when they are posted. For prize eligibility, we are only tracking the required steps. It is not necessary to post your completion of the other steps.

Week One

Step 1

Place 2 or 3 photos on the page. If you wish, you may use a layout template.

Remember to save your PSD file so you will be able to work on it again for the next step.

Week One

Step 2

Place 3 papers on your page. You probably need a background paper, maybe your photos need mats, maybe you want a border...the 3 papers can be any amount, any shape. We must be able to see them somewhere; they cannot be hidden.

Remember to save your PSD file so you will be able to work on it again for the next step.

With the template I'm using I needed 4. Is that okay? If not, I'll go alter it and either delete something or duplicate a paper.

Will have to start next week, but will try to play catch-up.

If you have to wait until next week to get started, it shouldn't be hard to catch up. :)

I am so in on this woohoo BUT I do have a quick question --- once we place something, does it have to stay there or can we move things around with every step?

If you need to, you would be able to move things around. In the end, we want you to have a completed layout which you are happy with. HTH :)

Step 3

Add some stitching or lace someplace on the page.

Reminder: There won't be a step posted tomorrow, and the game will resume on Monday. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :daisy:
