teecee
Week One Step 6 Add at least 2 fasteners. These can be any kind of fasteners: clips, staples, brads, pins, tape, etc.
cherryyllaann
This site is so cool. I participated for the first time in the ScrapSimple monthly post and I am going to try this one too. Sounds like fun!
Callaluna
I am just arriving here, but I'd really like to play if I can get caught up! Is it too late for me to start? I did have a question, though. I saw there is one other Gimp user here, so I am guessing that it is ok if I am not using Photoshop? But will we need to share a .psd file at some point? I learned the hard way last night that Gimp won't let me open .psd files, so I am guessing I can't save as one, either. I do have PS on my old machine, but I am really focused on learning Gimp right now and would rather stick with that. Is that going to be a problem? Belle
You need to post PNG files and not PSD files. Welcome to Scrap Girls and shout if you need any help.

It isn't too late for you to start and we're happy that you want to play along. The files we are posting here in this thread and the ones we will be posting in the gallery are all JPEG files. We save as .psd files first so we will be able to go back and make changes day by day. I've heard of Gimp, but I've never used it and don't know much about it, so hopefully you'll still be able to use it to play along. Hope this helps, and let us know if you have any more questions. I do have PS on my old machine, but I am really focused on learning Gimp right now and would rather stick with that. Is that going to be a problem? I use GIMP, too, and have never had trouble opening a psd file. With my computer, if I double-click on a psd file, it is automatically opened in GIMP. Another way that should work is right-clicking on the file. One of the the options should be "Open with...". Click on that and GIMP should be one of the options. Hope that works for you. You can also save layered files as xcf (GIMP) or psd (Photoshop and GIMP). Just change the end of the file name to .xcf or .psd I use PSE 6 for photo editing but GIMP for all my page design. I know there are others here that use GIMP. You are not alone!

Florida granny
I had to laugh at the discussion about moving pieces of the layouts in progress I've moved pieces of this one a bunch of times, but here it is: LOL Diane! Just think, we still have 4 more steps to go this week before we will be done with this week's layout Oh no! It might wind up sideways, upside down, or who-knows-what! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for us.
cherryyllaann
I think my file is too big. I tried to open it and it was huge. I am going back to try to resize and delete the one I just posted. Sorry I thought I did the pixels right.
cherryyllaann
I think this time it is a smaller size. Uploading to check.

Smoky
i'm hoping to play along, i'm a little behind though, just starting now. question ... i've never done square LOs, I always do rectangle ... would it be possible to save as 4x6 instead? or would that be a problem? I don't know if we'll get credit for it, but that's the way I always scrap, too. I saved mine at 288x223 pixels.

Florida granny
OK, I have my fasteners. DH and I are travelling for the next couple of days, so I'll add my embellishments when we stop for the night. It will be different using my laptop; I'll have to remember where I stashed the embellies on the hard drive, lol. Welcome, new people! It's nice to see your layouts. Glad you are here -- you'll enjoy playing along.
