Typing On A Path

hi
I have watched a tutorial how to type on a path
and have done this once quite successfully

trying to do it again this time AND
when I go to hit the path with text the path is disappearing
does anyone out there have any ideas as to why??

are you using photoshop or photoshop elements?

Have you created your own path, or are you using a purchased text path?

My Gallery I scrap with Photoshop CS6, but can help with older versions: PS7, CS2 & CS4.

created my own path with the pen tool
the thing that is most frustrating about this
is that I had success with this once before
what am I doing wrong this time??

We sell text path products in the boutique, so we can't give detailed instructions for how to make them on the message board. Sorry about that!
