My son, Ben, walked from one side of the living room to the other.

I should explain, Ben has cerebral palsy, is nine years old, and we were told he would never walk.

He has been taking a few tentative steps, but he has finally done it. He looked a bit like a robot, but I don't care!

Wow! That is amazing, really fantastic! My friend's son has CP and she takes him to equine therapy. He loves his horses! They say that the movement of horseback riding improves his balance and strength and is stimulating to his brain as well. I wonder how Ben would take to that, if you haven't already tried it? Now that you know he can walk across the room, who knows what else he might accomplish! :dancing-smilie:

How wonderful! My oldest DD had a boy with CP in her class. In middle school he worked hard to learn to walk. At the year end awards program he got out of his wheelchair and walked across the stage to receive an award. I can't type it now without tearing up. What a treasure this moment with Ben must be for you!!
