Why am I always last to see these posts!?!? This is just the most jaw dropping news! To be told your child will never do something that your other kids have done or that their peers will do must be so hard, for them and for you... then to show everybody how strong and determined they are and how capable they are? Priceless. This is the moment you have been working towards and how terribly exciting and moving for you... Heartwarming. Thanks for sharing :-)

I'm really late to this party... but I'm glad I finally got here. This is wonderful news, Valerie, and I'd love to know how your son is doing now. Hope that he has been able to continue his progress in walking.
My son has CP, too, tho it is his ortho issues (from a weird dysplasia) that was the bigger impediment to gross motor skill development. We were told that, *if* he walked, he would need an assistive device. He does walk now (he's 14) and quite well, though he has a unique gait and he is not as steady as typical kids. But he WALKS! Praise the Lord for answered prayer!
When you have kiddos with challenges, EVERY milestone reached is cause for MAJOR celebration. We don't take anything for granted, do we?! So... I join you in celebrating!
