YAY! I'm glad it's over and it sounds to me like you did very well - so proud of you!! This all sounds really fascinating - wish they had something like this around here. I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed and adding a prayer for a good outcome for you! :)

Well, you've got it under your belt don't you! You mustered up the courage to audition, asked for support, and did it! So proud of you! :2468who-do-we-appreciate:

Just heard from my director. I didn't make it this time. They said I did pretty well, but I need more time to improve my kata (form/technique) and the power of my hits. So now I'll just continue with the community group and keep practicing. I honestly would have been shocked if I had gotten in.

But you did it! You tried! That was the hardest part. Way to go, Theresa! Now you know what to expect and what they are looking for and then someday, you could get in. Won't that be cool?

Congratulations on pursuing your dream! There is joy for you in drumming for the love of it and if you progress into an advanced group, great. But if you don't it doesn't diminish your love of drumming. Have fun with your activities, continue to work on your skills, and the rest will come. Great job!

I talked to my director last night and got more detailed notes about my audition. He said I did great on my solos (they were musically well done, and fit nicely into the song) and also on the call-response drills (even though one of the judges gave me a really difficult line). Most of his comments & critiques were basic improvements on my stance, form, and arm movements - easy things to fix as I get more practice and confidence!! So I'm feeling pretty good about that!

That's wonderful news, and sounds very positive that you'll make it next time! I'm sorry it wasn't this time, but happy for you that you can continue with the community group and have fun:)
