I got thinking today that I cannot remember :dunno: how I came across Scrap Girls. I joined way back in May 2008 which is just three months after I started doing digital scrapbooking because I know that was February 2008. And I definitely do remember that I learnt a LOT from coming here back then. The Secrets Revealed taught me a lot and I know I gained a lot of help in the forum back then because I was having troubles installing styles in my then PSE6 because I had become a real Styles Junkie... just love them and still enjoy using them.

So if anyone can remember how you came about joining up here please share it with us.

P.S. Just for fun I searched back in the "Meet and Greet" to find where I had introduced myself and it seems it is possible that when I purchased the More Secrets for PSE I then discovered the forum.

I was still trying to learn how to do paper scrapping and I googled 'scrapbooking'. Scrap Girls came up and I subscribed to the newsletter. I just used to skim through the letter and did not even realise that it was digi scrapping. I basically looked at the pictures. :disappearing-smilie:Then my DD got PSE and I saw how she fixed photos. I wanted to go one better and add butterflies and frames. THEN I read a newsletter and decided to try it out. I bought Ro Secret video's and have not looked back. I luuuuv digiscrapping.

I found Scrap Girls by luck. I never found this place by a search engine for some reason, it never came up. I was checking people to follow on twitter, and one person I was following was following scrap girls, so I checked it out. Best thing I ever did. Posted Image

I don't remember quite HOW I found Scrap Girls - it's been sooooo long ago, but I've never looked back once I happened on to this little warm and fuzzy purple place!

I found Scrap Girls by doing a search for scrapbooking (at that point I wasn't really looking for digital - actually I'm not sure I even knew what digi-scrapping was LOL) I wanted to create a recipe book of both my Grandmother's recipes, that was back in November of 2007 and I still haven't completed the book BUT I sure have had a lot of fun AND made some fabulous friends along the way!

I found Scrap Girls looking for something in particular - faith based papers and elements to print out and use in my prayer scrapbook. I was using real paper, but wasn't happy with the supplies I was finding. I found the shop first, then signed up for the newsletter and discovered a whole new world of digi.

It's funny though, when I was making my first purchase, I discovered I already had an account. Apparently a year earlier I was looking for cigar labels that I could customize. My DH asked me to make some cigar labels to jazz up some cheap cigars that he got for a friends 50th birthday gift. My search then led me to Scrap Girls, but I never stuck around long enough to find out any more then. The labels came as a brush set - which I had no idea how to use or what that .abr file was for. Luckily they came with the .png files, which I did figure out.

I found it after a google search. I had been paper scrapper and had seen a lady with a laptop with a crop. It intrigued me and I wanted to know more. That was in Feb 2007 and it has changed my world. Right now I'm in a hotel room with Amy, one of the best friends, one I met online in the forum and then in real life at the first convention in Salt Lake City. And down the hall are ten other friends who are a big part of my life. What blessings that one little google search brought into my life.

I can't remember how I found Scrap Girls, but thank Heaven I did. All I know is that 'somehow' I started getting the newsletter and collecting the freebies. That was sometime in 2007. I lurked around for several months and then I joined for real in November 2007. It's been a blast ever since and I have learned so much from everyone here and have gone from PSE5 to PSE10. I've made some wonderful friends on the board and in person at some MAD Weekends. Hope to meet more ladies in the future.

I was so scared to upload my layouts, as they were not as 'beautiful' as the ones I saw in the gallery. JoEllen finally talked me into uploading one, and now I've done hundreds of layouts. Thank you JoEllen for the push. Hello digi, goodbye paper.

I think I was looking for supplies. I had started with another site & wasn't real happy with how basic their software was. I'm pretty sure it was a Google hit, though.

I was chatting over Yahoo messenger with my friend Benita(benjimum here...we have been online friends since 2003/4?) and she invited me here to meet Carla(CRS)who is moving here where I live in June! It sparked my digi interest again!

I saw an ad in a magazine for the free "Refresh" kit. I downloaded it, but it was a long time before I ever figured out what to actually do with it!

I had been fooling around with digi scrapping for awile, but still doing mostly paper. Then last spring for some reason, I googled digital scrapping and found this wonderful place. I still didn't become very active until several months ago. I love it. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and I have learned so much in the few short months that I have really participated. I wish there would be another convention though, so I could meet some of you friendly folks!

I read an article on digital scrapbooking and wanted to see what it was all about. I checked out a few sites before I found ScrapGirls (from Google), but ScrapGirls immediately became my favorite!

My memory is getting fuzzy. lol I know I was buying scrapbook magazines. I probably saw a Scrap Girls ad and downloaded the free collection. It may have been about a year before I knew what to do with the stuff. lol I didn't even know that my computer had PSE4 on it. When I found out, I started using it. Used it for quite some time before upgrading.

Sooooo glad I found Scrap Girls!!!

Scrap Girls was the featured digi scrapping site for one of the summer editions of Creating Keepsakes in 2006. I made a note of the site, started getting the newletter that October, started lurking in the forum, joined in January 2007, and made my first post a few months later. I've been playing with digiscrapping since PSE 2, but never really took off with it until I joined Scrap Girls.

I bought the Digital Scrapbooking Special Edition magazine way back in 2006 and Scrap Girls had an advertisement in the magazine, plus one of the designers (Thao Cosgrove) was highlighted in that issue. I was so taken by all the beauty, creativity and talent from the issue, I read it on the plane all the way home from Detroit. I read that magazine cover to cover - every word, every supply list, every advertisement, everything. I said to myself "I want to do that!" and here I am!!! (This is the short version of my story....) Thank goodness for my Scrap Girls!

I took an online course through IBM, I think, and they suggested that if I liked scrapping I should check out ScrapGirls. That's all it took.

I believe I saw a Scrap Girls ad in Creating Keepsakes magazine, probably late in 2006. I was working full-time and spending 8 to 10 hours a day in front of the computer and I was not real inclined to spend MORE time in front of the screen at home. I was let go from my job in January of 2007 and signed onto Scrap Girls the first week of February. I have to say, this site has changed my life.

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's stories of how they came to be here. :)

I was looking for tutorials on learning PhotoShop at the time, and as I was randomly clicking links, I ended up here. I'd never heard of digital scrapbooking, nor did I know anything about traditional scrapbooking, either. Oh boy, were my eyes opened! I spent a great deal of time in the gallery, and then purchased Ro's video tutorials. I was instantly hooked!
