If you are like me, new songs pop into your head (and get stuck) multiple times a day! I don't even have to have a radio playing, but there is always a song stuck in my mind. I thought it would be a fun new game to see what everyone is singing at this current moment, and each time it changes!

Right now, the song stuck in my head is "Prince Ali" from Disney's Aladdin (even though I haven't seen the movie or listened to the soundtrack in many many years).

Well, now that I read your post, Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid is in my head. DD used to sing it and sing it and sing it. Adorable and clever as can be lyrics!

Fun topic, Theresa!

Today I've been singing "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" most of the day - it popped into my head this morning and has been with me all day!

Not fun, but DD has been listening to the boy band One Direction.
And I've to the Save You song in my head.

I can't be no superman
But for you I'd be superhuman
I, I want to save you Save you, save you, tonight

I want something else! My German teacher called it an "ohrwurm" or earworm.

This morning I woke up with "All to Jesus I surrender....." in my mind as I had been playing a couple of my Christian CDs while on the computer yesterday.

I have the Strawberry Shortcake cartoon theme song in my head because Molly is watching it right now and that was the last tune I heard. SO annoying LOL.

Hmm. 2 1/2 hour choir rehearsal last night for Saturday's "Soli Deo Gloria" concert, so that music is REALLY in my head today. Two or three pieces in particular are still stuck in my head today: "Welten Singen Dank Und Ehre" by Beethoven, "Sing Joyfully" by William Byrd, and "Beatus Vir" by Monteverdi.

Fairly esoteric, but it's pretty and challenging sacred music. Since we have dress rehearsal with orchestra on Thursday, and a'capella final work Friday, I'm sure other pieces will rotate into the lineup in my head.:breakdance: :circle:

I've been singing this oldie by the Everly Brothers ever since I woke up this morning - one of our commercials uses it and now it's totally stuck in my head! DREAM

Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
When I want you in my arms
When I want you and all your charms
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream

A few years ago BC (before children, lol) when I was in the choir here, I would constantly have the classical music in my head weeks before a big performance. Once a year we would do a musical mass, by Haydn or Mozart, etc (not Catholic service, just the music).

We were just treated to a house concert by "Full House" from Austin, TX last week. Our good friends here in town hosted it - two of the band members are brothers and were staying with their aunt and uncle in town before a big gig in Chicago, so they found friends of friends (our friends) to host the house concert. It was excellent! I have two of theirs running through my head all day since then: "Lately" and "Roaming Dragons". If you want to hear them, check out Lately by "Full Service" on Youtube. :)

Fun game Theresa! I always have a song stuck in my head so I'll be sure to keep checking the thread.

I have to admit that the last song stuck in my head was Rubber Ducky after seeing a layout in the gallery. Nothing right now, but we'll see.

I just finished watching 'Funny Girl' and 'Funny Lady' and the song from the wedding scene is going through my head: "...I am so beautiful" in particular.

A few years ago I gave my youngest DS a pair of tickets to see Simon and Garfunkel in concert. The Everly Brothers opened for them (makes sense, doesn't it?) and DS was surprised by how much he liked them!

Now, the song "Bluebird" by Christina Perri is stuck in my head. More the melody/tune rather than the lyrics.

BTW, did you know it's been scientifically proven that the best song to erase the song stuck in your head is the theme to Gilligan's Island. No joke. And boy does it work. Thought this was a good place to share that little factoid.

Everybody now....

"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip,
That started from this tropic port
aboard this tiny ship.........."
