I use both 1 and 3. I've used 2 a bit, but Cheri is right, it doesn't show in the page protector. I found that the 13x19 papers were less per sheet than the 12x12. I just trim them and use the extra bit for printing cards and invitations and stuff. (And I do it later, not while I'm printing my pages. I don't think that far ahead.)
Oh, and on mine, the lustre uses the gloss cartridge... so I save on that too when I print matte.

Actually I do too. My large-format Epson 1280 has seen better days. I think it's about 8 years old (?) and is starting to print hot pink lines through things. It has been a great workhorse though!

My R1800 is about 7 years old and still going strong. I only use it for color printing (mostly layouts and cards) and use a laser printer for everyday things, so it gets pretty light use. I printed 32 layouts two days ago-- I would have done more, but I ran out of paper. I love it as much now as I did when I got it.

I have a R1800 too but it is only about 3 years old. Really glad to hear yours is 7 years old and going strong.
