Bobbie is having a really hard time with the daily radiation treatments - she's having a lot of pain and it's breaking my heart - especially when there's nothing I can do to make it better.

She needs what the military calls TDRL - the Temporary Disability Retired List, where you have up to 3 years to regain your health and become fit for duty. I'm praying she will be able to qualify on time.

Thank you, Gayle - I hope so too - she's way too young to retire permanently from Law Enforcement - she's strong but this is really debilitating her right now and it's hard - really hard. I wish so often that when we post these requests for prayers that somehow the personality of that person for whom we are asking prayer could shine through for everyone to see. To know Bobbie is to love her and she's just one of the most amazing friends I've ever known. She has an awesome sense of humor - she's the gal who did traffic stops one night with fake Halloween teeth in her mouth and still pulled off the traffic stop - she wore funky wigs just for fun long before she HAD to wear them because of the chemo - and the only way I know that something isn't right with her is when she calls me and says, "Hey Boo, I just needed to hear your voice" - and I know. "Boo" is just a nickname that I have no idea how it came about but for some reason it's what we call each other when things just aren't going too well. She's just 5 feet tall but in those 5 feet she packs a lot of wonderful personality - until the radiation treatments started she was the one keeping up the spirits of everyone else undergoing chemo by making them laugh.
Thank you for your prayers! They mean a lot!

Please pray that her numbness continues to decrease and that she is able to qualify - she's trying to pretend she isn't worried but she is so afraid that she won't be able to do it.
yall are just the best friends ever - I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers so much!

Thank you, Gayle - I think that getting back into Bobbie's regular routine is going to help her so much. She's so excited to feel more like herself again. She joked the other day that her hair was coming back but in strange spots - she said, "well, there IS enough to brush although it looks like a comb-over, but at least people will be able to tell that I DID brush the comb-over! Her sense of humor is intact! LOL

The other day, the police department got a call from one of our ER doctors who lives in Laurel Park, where Bobbie is the Chief of Police. It seems there was a Vietnamese Pig that had gotten away from it's owner. So, of course, every officer on duty went to the residence to try and catch the pig for animal control. Bobbie said that they chased and chased the pig only to have him get away from them every time and when animal control tried to use their noose, it slipped right off - the pig's neck is the same size as his body so there was nothing to "noose". They were all over the yard trying to capture the pig as it ran around the yard. Each time they got their hands on it it would slip out of their hold - like a greased pig! Bobbie, feeling her oats, gave it a try and landed on top of the pig but it still got away. The doc, who knew Bobbie was concerned because Bobbie had just finished her radiation and he chastised her for even trying to catch it. Bobbie kept telling him that she was okay but he was still concerned and finally Bobbie said, "Dang, Doc, I'm not going to catch it between my boobs"! Doc started laughing and couldn't stop - that is Bobbie's sense of humor.
Oh, and the pig? One of the officers finally got a cardboard box and tossed it on the pig at just the right time and voila! the pig was caught!
Not half as funny with me telling it but Bobbie was laughing so hard when she told the story and she has such a sense of humor that I was in hysterics just trying to picture Bobbie chasing that darned pig!
So............Bobbie's back! Woo-Hoo! I hope you can use your imagination to picture this cause it doesn't sound half as funny when I tell it as when Bobbie told it.
God is Good! Thank you all for your prayers - I feel very blessed to have had so many friends praying for her.
