Sign up here if you want me to put you on the chart! We'll start on May 29 (the Tuesday after Memorial Day) unless I hear that a LOT of you want to start bright and early on May 21 (tomorrow as I write this!)

The rules as compiled by a number of shredders:

You must exercise each day of the 30 challenge for at least 20 minutes. You may use any DVDs you have on hand such as Jillian's 30 Day Shred, Chalean Extreme or you can do any activity you like. eg. walk, bike ride, swim or go to the gym.

You must post to the check in thread each day to get checked off and have your progress charted.

If you miss a day you can make it up on Sunday. Be sure to let me (Cheri) know you did it so I can make sure your chart is correct. Make up days can also be accomplished by doing a separate workout in a day. For example - "I did Zumba for 1 hour in the morning" = 1 workout and "I walked for 45 minutes in the evening" = 1 workout for a total of 2 workouts that day.

It is a good idea to weigh and measure yourself before you start so you can see your own progress. You may share your numbers with the group for accountability or keep them private as you wish.
We make a great support system for one another, so if you are having problems, have questions, or just need to moan and groan about your sore muscles, let it all out:)

By all means start reporting whenever! I already reported mine from today:) The chart just won't start until the 29th (which also happens to be my birthday, whee!)

I've been doing Tai Cheng for about 30 minutes every day. And 2 hours of taiko on Sunday. Right now my exercise is restricted due to the Ultimate Reset cleanse program. I should be able to get back into more active exercise by June 1st.

Ok, I'm back on track! (soooo tired of being sick!!)

I started a new program yesterday, and so far, I really like it!! It is by Herbalife and it's called Fit24. It's a 24 week program broken in to 3 phases. Phase one is stability. Yesterday was pelvis/hip stability (strength) and today was Metabolic 1 (aerobic)workout. So far so good.

I'm going to admit this publicly now...but don't tell ok??? I heave NEVER EVER EVER in my life been consistent with working out. Why? I HATED it...yes HATE. (I never use that word, but it's fitting here) Last June I started with the shredders just walking daily. Then gradually have worked my way up to strength training and cardio. THANK YOU for the accountability!

I realized when I was sick in February and March and then again in May...how much I missed working out!! (I said don't tell....) I noticed a lack of energy without my workouts and added to that being sick!! It was miserable! Baby steps to get back on track.

I cannot tell you how much better I feel both mentally and physically. (some of you may not know that I had serious back problems in 2009-2010) I can't believe how far I have come since those miserable days! It only gets better from here! With continued work, I will NEVER be in that place again!! NEVER!

So..if you are on the fence about joining this thread...DO IT AND DO IT NOW!!! You have to start somewhere!

Didn't mean to write a book...back to your regularly scheduled programming...

I'll jump back in too. I've been hit or miss the last few weeks with traveling and all, but back in the groove. I've been doing Tai Cheng, just finished the second week. I've also committed to a 5K in october and I need to get ready for that. I've only been getting the walk/jog thing in a couple of times a week so I'm hoping you guys can keep me on track with that. C25K is not a good fit for my schedule, so I'm doing a modification...same principles, just a little different schedule. And I try to get a little work with weights in here and there. I keep the weights out and handy and will grab one to do one little piece of CE, maybe 5 minutes worth at a time. Its the only way I seem to be able to get it into my hectic days. Baby steps are better than no steps.

That is an EXCELLENT testimonial to exercise! :) And may those awful sickies stay away now!! We don't want anything keeping you from exercise (oops, wasn't supposed to let that cat out of the bag) - ok, I don't want anything to keep you away from we friends:) lol!

Lena, it's great to have you join us! Feel free to post your exercise before the 29th, but that's when we'll start "for real" with the chart.
Sandi, glad to see you back in the thread! You are doing awesome considering your insane work schedule.
Valerie, I bet you'll get back in the swing in a couple days - you've been very dedicated to your bike, and that initial stiffness will work itself out quickly. :)

Please add me to the list, Cheri. I have been letting my "off pool days" slip into "being busy excuses" and if I'm going to whittle my middle and every other area I need to commit back to 6 day workouts rather than 3. Yesterday was 60 min water aerobics and today was a 15 min walk this am with a 20 minute walk planned for lunch break @ work. I've also picked 3 bags of rhubarb to take into work this morning and vacuumed all my floors to a jivey beat. My theme this month ... keep on moving!

I'm counting on some good weather so I can get in most of the requirements walking around the golf course. But I can't do that every day....will have to expand my horizons, in a manner of speaking!

Count me in for another round. Should get interesting when the kids get out of school next week, but I'll just drag them out to walk with me in between all the activity drop offs and pick ups!
