So yesterday as my kids were playing outside, I found five 4-leaf clovers. My friends were amazed, but to me it was no big thing. I've always been able to find them without trying, and actually if I LOOK for them, I usually can't find them! I got curious about it so I researched it some last night. A lot of people said what I did, we just find them if we don't try. But SO many other people wrote and said they had tried and tried, yet never found one. Just got me wondering, how many of my fellow ScrapGirls are good at finding them or have never found one???

My sister is like you. She'll be walking along, look down, and just pick one. She has an album just full of them.

Personally, I've never found one.

The last time I found 4-leaf clovers was at Girl Scout summer camp... and I ended up with the worst case of poison ivy ever.... so bad, that I had to leave camp early, and my face swelled up. I haven't searched for 4-leaf clovers since.

I remember the field at my school had a lot of clover patches, I could always find the 4 leaf ones, but my friends couldn't.

Now however, I've lost the magic touch, I blame it on my deteriorating eyesight.Posted Image

LOL - That would make me give up searching for them!

Poor Tiza!

I have found several over the years. So have my boys. I'm not around clover patches that often, though.

A couple years ago I found over 20 of them in our back yard in a 2 month period, without really looking. Theresa, I'd be totally out of the notion if I were you too, yikes. Come visit me sometime and I'll tell DH not to mow for a couple weeks so the clover is higher;) No poison ivy in the back yard, promise!

We used to have a 4 leaf clover patch in our lawn. Bob would spray to get rid of the clover, but not quite often enough to get rid of it, and I think he mutated it. ;) The kids would come in with handfuls after school every day. I pressed them in books, I laminated them, and after a while, I just threw them away.... and now I really wish I kept more of them.

I stopped picking them because I also had SO many of them. My Bible is FILLED with them. It started to get annoying that whenever I'd open it, another dried up clover would fall out.

But last night i was reading that people laminate them and include them in cards and I thought that was a nice idea. I have a couple friends battling cancer right now and I thought it would be nice to include the clover in the Get Well card. I was also thinking they'd be cute in a Graduation card, kind of a "good luck in the real world" type thing. Could be cute, right?!

That sounds like a great idea, Laura. I myself have never found a 4 leaf clover, but never spent a lot of time looking, either.

Wow, I did not know that 4 leaf clovers actually existed. I thought is was just a myth. I have really learned something today.

I think I've probably found a few four leaf clovers - but when the kids were little we used to find tons of them - I need to start looking for them again - they do bring good luck don't they? LOL I am sure they do! My kids used to get so exicted when they found one and we pressed them into their scrapbooks for safe keeping - I think I still have some of those scrapbooks and I should find them and give them to them - wonder if they would mean as much to them as they did then?

My Bible is where I put all the 4-leafers I found too! I think that's an excellent idea for the graduation cards and to your friends dealing with serious illness.

Zack found his first this week--AMAZING! I never find them, but I can't say that I've ever tried either. We were weeding the lawn, and he just said, "I wonder if there's a four leaf clover here.. .Yep. Here's one!" LOVE IT!

My DS finds them all the time. He's found at least 15 in the last year. I finally found my second in my lifetime a couple weeks ago. My bigger coup was finding a 5-leaf in our yard the day after I found the 4-leaf. I was hoping that would bring some extra luck, but so far to no avail.

I think there is something to the mutated clover thing, April. I saved them in a dish of water, but I didn't think about pressing them until I found the 5-leaf one. Now I wish I would have saved more of them. Oh well, I guess I'll have to send my DS out into the yard again. :)

I have only looked once or twice but didn't find any. I will have to look around again. The field the kids had soccer practice at has lots of clover.

Hunter brought me a 5 or 6 leaf clover once. I thought he was kidding and had stuck 2 together. lol But, it was real. I would think I took a picture...I can't remember how long ago it was.

My son found a five-leaf for me! I'm not sure he knew what he was doing (he is only 2 1/2!) but he reached down and picked the clover and handed it to me! I laminated that one and put a ribbon on it because that one was EXTRA special to me!
