Boy. I felt like I was Lucille Ball earlier.

If you had seen me making the chocolate chip cookies, you would have thought I'd never done such a thing before. :hit-head-with-hammer:

First, I added the brown sugar to the separate bowl of dry ingredients. Was supposed to add it to the butter and granulated sugar and vanilla. Had to scoop out what I could of it and add it to the mixer.

Then, was cracking an egg into the mixer and dropped half of the egg shell in. :jawdrop: In my panic, I didn't turn it off fast enough, so it got broken up. The fellas said I should just try to fish the pieces out. So, with clean fingers, I got most of the egg shell out. What a slimy mess!

Then...I wanted to let the paddle spin once or so as I lifted the mixer arm to help get some of the dough off. Well, I lifted the arm too high or had it spinning too fast or something. Yep, cookie dough was flying. (Hey, Elisha...how about a Flying Dough collection? lol)

Sigh

The cookies I actually baked tasted good. And we didn't notice any egg shell crunch. :eekout:

I'm sure your cookies were still a big hit, Char - I've done so many things like that before so don't feel bad! At least you baked!

LOL, Charlene! I can just picture it in my head, like in a sitcom.

I think we've all had those "off" days when it comes to doing something like that!

That's funny! Glad they turned out okay. BTW, I just heard a tip that cracking eggs on a flat surface works better. I didn't think so but i gave it a try and yes it does! It doesn't crush the shell like you'd think - it ends up with a longer crack just like you'd hope - easier to pull apart.

Shame you couldn't get that all on film - might win $100,000 on America's Funniest Home Videos ;)

I'm glad the cookies turned out in the end!!

Oh, and I would purchase a Flying Dough collection

Actually, the flying dough collection sounds kind of intriguing. And re the egg shell - calcium is good for you.

I once left the baking soda out of my chocolate chip cookies and added baking powder instead - talk about a fiasco! We all do it even though we've been baking choc chip cookies all of our lives!

:whew: I made some brownies yesterday. As I was about to crack an egg, I thought, "Dare I crack this egg and open it right over the bowl?" lol All went well, though. No egg shells in the mix.
