Okay, I cry uncle. I give up frantically paddling upstream while everyone else is floating downstream, merrily using all the neat PSE stuff. I really resisted the switchover because I really love my PSP. But, I will have to acknowledge that PSE does some really cool things. Or, hopefully, it will when I learn how to do them. Anyway, I know the first thing I need is a Secrets Revealed. Even though I have been scrapping with PSP for a while (using Secrets for PSP), I will assume that the best way to start is with the original Secrets for PSE and then move to the More Secrets. How much would be duplicated in starting over? Would I be safe in going straight to More Secrets? Did any of that make sense :hit-head-with-hammer: :blondmoment:

In the meantime, I am trying to do a layout with SNU_SSDLT_Blendability-1. I flipped it to make it an 11 x 8.5 image. (I KNOW! Only took me an hour to figure that one out) I want it to look like LO2_300 that is included in folder. I'm obviously missing a step or procedure. Any help would be appreciated.

I resisted the switch from PSPx2 to PSE for the longest time. If you have already gone through the Secrets for PSP, and are fairly proficient in the software, you probably can jump straight to More Secrets for PSE. The interface/menus of the program is different, but most of the basic functions are the same.
(Honestly, I bought both sets of videos for PSE when I switched, but never watched them. I just jumped right into the software and started playing around with the products until I figured things out.)

Have fun with PSE! I love the styles & actions.

I had some experience with PSE (3 and 4) when I found Scrap Girls and I bought both the basic and the More Secrets tutorials. Even though some of the stuff in the first was review, I definitely learned some things I didn't know.

Oh, there's plenty that I could learn. The biggest issue I have always had is working with masks. I just can't get the concept. Can't make 'em work. Never look right. I wouldn't want to miss that video. Better start at the basics.

Best advice about the switch I can give you is take your time and enjoy the process!
When you're ready for layer masks, just think of them like a piece of paper you cover your layer with. You can make holes in the "paper" and you'll see what's underneath and where you leave the "paper" in tact you hide what's under it.
Have fun!

There is probably a lot more I could learn from watching the videos. I just got impatient and lazy when it came to watching them. I wanted to dive right in and experiment, and learn as I go.

Yay! Both sets are on sale today. Have already purchased both. Now just have to wait patiently for them to come in mail.

I have spent many frustrating hours trying to figure out PSE. Took hours just to figure out how to drag and drop papers and pictures onto a project. Not at all like PSP. I guess that I am just not intuitive enough. More a show me so I can have an "A Hah" moment type of gal. I miss the days when you got a printed instruction manual. Uh Oh....did I just date myself.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the videos and really hoping for a definitive lesson on how to work with masks. As I said before, my real hangup. They sound so easy. So why can't I make them work. :banghead: :dunno:

It's not you that's not intuitive, believe me, its Pse.
You'll like the videos. I bought them after spending hours trying to get a photo onto a Page. Lol.

Thanks so much for that. That's just the sort of encouragement I need. Until the cd's get here - oh please hurry Angie - I am not even opening the program. Not for nothing.
