30 Day Shredders July Starting right away July 2 !!

The rules as compiled by a number of shredders:

You must exercise each day (6 days per week) of the 30 challenge for at least 20 minutes. You may use any DVDs you have on hand such as Jillian's 30 Day Shred, Chalean Extreme or you can do any activity you like. eg. walk, bike ride, swim or go to the gym.

You must post to the check in thread each day to get checked off and have your progress charted.

If you miss a day you can make it up on Sunday. Be sure to let me (Cheri) know you did it so I can make sure your chart is correct. Make up days can also be accomplished by doing a separate workout in a day. For example - "I did Zumba for 1 hour in the morning" = 1 workout and "I walked for 45 minutes in the evening" = 1 workout for a total of 2 workouts that day.

It is a good idea to weigh and measure yourself before you start so you can see your own progress. You may share your numbers with the group for accountability or keep them private as you wish.
We make a great support system for one another, so if you are having problems, have questions, or just need to moan and groan about your sore muscles, let it all out:)

Sign me up, Cheri! You've a sweetheart for taking this on again! I hope to kick my exercise up a notch this month and I need to be accountable to do that. I'm kind of at a standstill right now and not seeing much progress in myself so have relented and agreed to go to the gym with my dh! Groan! Oh, I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew! LOL

I took a month off because of traveling and classes, but I would love to be in for July!

I am currently struggling with a herniated L5 disc, and just found out that my blood sugar, cholesterol, and weight are all out of bounds. I need to get healthy, ....and fast! but without any twisting, bending, or high impact. My favorite activites--swimming, biking, dancing, and most of my yoga are off limits! Happily, the only thing that gives me any pain relief at all is walking.

The best thing that's happened this month: the passenger side of my car got smashed, and has been in the shop for the last two weeks. The autobody guy has promised it "tomorrow" every day since last Tuesday. How is that good news? Without my car, I've been walking 2 to 6 miles a day! (... and I've been on my feet the rest of the day just because I can't sit down without pain.) If my car had not been in the shop, I don't think I would have taken those first steps toward wellness. (I've stopped arguing with God--He knows some stuff I don't.)

...And away we go!

Jaymee, were you given any information about your eating choices? Monitoring your carbohydrate intake can make a huge difference in your blood sugar pretty quickly. That combined with exercise will get you going in all three areas.

Awesome job continuing to move while we're between charts!
We spent the weekend in NE Iowa at a real old log cabin. I definitely got my exercise in Sat and Sun with hikes. Yesterday we hiked to a swimming hole in the creek and then walked back the 1/2 mile UPHILL. Even the boys did well, although there was a certain amount of whining...
Today we went to Effigy Mounds National Monument and hiked about 2 miles in 95-98 degree weather. Ugh. The mounds and the forest were in fact worth it. DH had to carry our 3 year old on his shoulders up the whole steep hill/very small mountain. (There are no mountains in Iowa, but this was a BIG hill). So DH definitely got his exercise in too, lol.

Good morning - its Monday! Good to be back home and get back in the groove. Was at the pool this morning @ 5:30 for my one hour water aerobics class. Man I have missed this class while on vacation the past 2 weeks. All the hiking was good, but I do love my water aerobics!!

It's Monday and I'm struggling with a bad case of the "laziness bug" - Its just been so hot here - I think I've sweated more these past days than when I exercise! No bike ride this morning yet but I'll get to it eventually.

Or as my Mother would have corrected me - "you didn't sweat, Sara Ellen - horses sweat, ladies "dew"! So I've dewed these past few days! LOL

Monday done, I was on the bike watching the birds in my back garden, it's amazing how many birds come in when it's raining. Anyway I did about 30 mins.

I did one hour of aquatic PT, then one hour of walking--feels good to move!

Cheri--could you please count this for Monday and Tuesday for me, as I will be having my third injection tomorrow and will be limited with a numb leg. Thanks!

I don't know if I posted about my two walks on Saturday and Sunday. Today I spent a full hour moving at full speed, a variety of motions. I'm beginning to feel it!
