Grandson Matt's Trio Won At International trombone Competion in France

He is so proud. He graduated from Ut this year, and he and his quartet were finalists in the Internationsl Trombone competition held in Paris, France. They won over the Germans, and Dutch. He will move to San Francisco in August to begin his Master in Music.

He sent this email to Pat and FB message :

> Hey Homies!

> We won the International Trombone Quartet Competition!!!!! Beat the

> Germans and the Dutch and were bringin home the gold for the USA!

> Europe has been awesome! Ill be back on Tuesday ..... My flight

> is supposed to land in Austin around ..... and I have a friend coming

Thanks for letting me brag a little. :D At Ut , School of Music they have the Trombonists make a group CD of Gospel music. It is really good! I never had throught of all trombones, but I think there's something of a history of trombones being used in religeous music. He has practiced since he was a little kid, and you can imagine what his proud parents went through. haha. I'm married to a drummer, so I know! Even on vacation last year in AL, Matt practiced every day.
