Sounds like things aren't as bad as you fear. Hope the double diapering works. Keeping you both in prayer.

The doctors heard that click when my son was born and he did indeed have the problem in both hips. I remember the doctor telling me not to look so worried because everthing would be fine. He had to wear a splint that went between his legs that kept his legs apart. It was like a big firm pillow that was kept on with a little blue gingham outfit. He didn't seem to mind it at all but it was awkward to carry him. The doctor said that if caught early it is easy to fix and sure enough he was fine in about 4 weeks. X-rays showed no problem at all. He's 35 now and has been in all kinds of sports including running. Now he competes in bike races. No problems with his hips at all, so don't worry Ava will be fine. I know firsthand that it's frightening to hear, but it was caught early and the double diapering should do the trick.

Thank you everyone! We heard back just a bit ago and he said her hip is "slightly lax" so he spoke to a pediatric orthopedic DR and she recommended us "double diapering" which we are going to go and learn how to do tomorrow an repeating the ultrasound in 3 weeks then 3 more weeks ! Hopefully this will make the slight problem go a way! I so appreciatate everyone's positive prayers and thoughts, ScrapGirls are the BEST!!!

Shannon thank you so much for the good news update --- I will continue to keep you AND Ava in my thoughts AND prayers!

I'm praying for Ava's little hip to improve greatly in the months to come.

Our son came into this world with his fair share and someone else's of orthopedic issues... and just tuck this in the back of your mind for later on down the road: Physical therapy can be a wonderful way to remedy ortho issues. Obviously, Ava is probably not a candidate for PT *this* early but if it's needed in six months or so, I encourage you to go for it. We started Ryan in PT at six months with an amazing pediatric PT. Because his issues were quite involved, he was in PT until age 3, then has been in PT off/on over the years as needed for different issues related to his bone growth (he has a weird syndrome I won't go into here).

All that to say, pediatric PT - even for infants - can be super helpful.

God will guide you at right time to what you need to do for Ava. Meanwhile, give her a hug and squeeze for all of us!

Shhh-hhhh, Lei! Now everyone knows that our children were born long before double diapering was even a thought in anyone's mind! We must pretend we know these things! LOL LOL LOL
