Some of you may remember that our Sweet Odie passed away on May 11th - we knew that we wanted 2 babies to join Buddie, we knew that we wanted bird dogs because Kevin had so much fun hunting (watching LOL) Buddie and Odie in the woods AND we also knew that we wanted to do either shelter or rescue puppiess. I found these 2 brothers on petfinder.com , their Mother is a Weimaraner who was a stray AND they are guessing that the Father was Black Lab with possibly some Great Dane mixed in. They were born in Mississippi and then rescued by Castaway Critters in Harrisburg, PA. Our son drove down to PA and brought them home to us June 30th.

Such cute pups, Sherry Lynn! I know you and your family are the perfect home for these boys! I'm so glad that you found each other.

(oh, and by the way, since they are from down South, if they get a little homesick, just fix them some grits and they will feel right at home) LOL Seriously, here, dogs do love grits and it's great for upset tummies!

I found our Buddy on the same website. Great resource for finding rescue pets!

Oooooh, what sweet faces! You were brave to bring them in so soon after losing Odie. But then, Buddy needs young ones around to brighten him up, doesn't he? May they bring you much joy. :)

I'm so happy for you. You had such a sad time with Odie. I'm glad you have these precious little ones to make you smile now. They sound like they might become giants! Rescue dogs are such wonderful angels. Mine is sleeping at my feet as I type.

Carla --- that is awesome that you found your Buddy on the same site AND Buddie is still "adjusting" to them. The growls have become less often and they can actually get within 3 feet of him, this is huge because 2 weeks ago when we got them he didn't even want them in the same room. I feel bad because I wanted him to be able to help train them and have them as companions BUT everyone has told me that it will take some time......

Gayle --- yes it was soon after Odie and as I said above Buddie is still adjusting and hopefully they will all be good buddies --- we really wanted to get them this time of year because of the house training which is really going fantastic, they have not gone poo in the house since we've had them and they have not done anything at all for the last 3 days!

Jo --- they had their first vet visit Weds. and he thinks they will be between 70 and 85 pounds, so not too bad AND I totally agree with the rescue puppies being angels for sure AND yeah for you having yours at your feet - love it!
