Yesterday our neighbors called to see if we would like to join them for a cookout/dog swimming afternoon, of course our answer was sure!
We had new potatoes and string beans - which my neighbor boiled in the same pot --- when they were done she added light cream, real dairy butter and a little salt and pepper, oh my goodness every year when we have that for the first time I always say "it doesn't get any better than this" LOL!
Now her husband grilled the chicken AND I have never seen this technique done so I thought I would share and see if I'm the only one that has never tried this. He took bone-in/skin on thighs --- he took the skin and peeled it back and poured on the bbq sauce and then folded the skin back in place and proceeded to grill it, I have never heard of doing this BUT the chicken was fabulous!
Oh yes, you are probably wondering what I contributed --- I made a fresh fruit salad --- yum yum!

In South Africa we eat our beans boiled with potatoes and onion. Salt, white pepper and butter. Mash. Lovely. Your chicken sounds fab. I must try that.

Every summer in West Virginia my mom would cook up a pot of fresh string beans and add tiny "new" potatoes as they cooked. I miss that.

Sounds yummy! When I cook my green beans, I add some bacon and let that cook awhile and then I add small whole potatoes to the pot too! Tasts so good that way!

Sounds delish! Especially since my resident griller, aka DH, is gone for the week, lol. I think I better stick to the kitchen;)
