I didn't ask for prayers in this forum. But I am just really grateful that my husband's fourth knee surgery is turning out so well. The first two were arthoscopic and botched! This led to a third with a total radical knee replacement. It was horrible, and to top it off, the therapist tore a ligament while trying to force a bend in the knee. :P DH went to a new surgeon as we had moved, and this surgeon said yet another surgery was needed as the replacement had disattached from the kneecap. That knee cap was off to the side of the knee by 40 degrees. Possibly a complete replacement of the replacement was what we were looking at. That means 6 months or more till full recovery, not to mention the strong pain meds and then the withdrawal. We were really discouraged as this was a work related injury and that meant he was locked out of working with only workman's comp. It has been two years. Well, we prayed for a miracle and for the kneecap to move. IT DID!! I moved to only 5 degrees out of place and only a minor revision of the replacement was needed. The surgery was quick and the recovery has been amazing. He was released the very next day and walking with a cane. Two days later, walking without a cane and next to no pain meds needed!!!Posted Image :party-smiley-048: :party-smiley-048: :party-smiley-048: Now I am looking forward to us finally taking those Shag dancing lessons soon. They offer them free in our new city!!!

I'm so glad things are going well, and I hope they continue to do so. Make sure your DH doesn't over do it, or do too much too soon.

How wonderful that things went so well for your husband. As we all know here, prayer is a very powerful thing. Can't wait to see some pictures of the two of you shagging away!

My goodness, you guys have been through the wringer! SO thankful that he has found a good doc - AND that the kneecap moved. Prayer changes things, yep, yep, yep!

Thanks for sharing this with us! Much to be thankful for!

Oh, my goodness! What a tremendous blessing for you both! Glad he will quickly heal up and get moving again.

Botched messes usually don't have such happy endings. My Son in law is still retraining because they said they cannot fix their botched mess and he can no longer do the job he loves (wood carpentry).

Hope he has a speedy recovery!

Oh, my - that's horrible. I'm glad dh is doing so much better now! Maybe you should wait on the Shag lessons until he's off the cane, but it does sound like fun!

OH, that made me laugh! We will wait probably till after our anniversary in August. HIm dancing with a cane would be like juggling jello. I was the rebel disco dancer in my teens( parents forbade it, I rebelled) He can't freestyle at all, but he already shuffles his feet, hahaha!! He is off the cane already, but not driving regularly or anything yet. He knows from past recoveries how much he can do and for how long. I am just sooooo glad that there is no pain meds involved. That can be a very risky thing for a person, especially if they have had them often for an extended period. Still praising, and right now, I am the only one dancing. YUP, you will see the photos when the time comes! :D

So good to hear that a terrible ordeal has a happy ending. Hope the recovery is complete and that he'll be "busting moves" out on the dance floor.

So happy for you both! I'm glad things finally are doing well for your DH. Knee surgeries I have found out can be tricky and you need to have a doctor you can really trust and know ALL the facts up front. I learned the hard way, with my both my complete knee replacements. If I had a chance to turn back time and not get them done.....I would in a heartbeat! But it's too late and there is nothing they can do about mine. I just have to learn to live with the issues and limitations and constant pain.

Oh, this is a "scary" thread for me to read right now. I just recently found out that I have torn my cartilage and my ACL. I want to go to the same ortho that did my son's ACL but I can't get into him until August 2. So we'll see what he recommends.

SO VERY GLAD your DH is doing good finally, Amanda. Praise God!! He is good!!
