Yesterday I picked up this great corner cabinet out of someone's trash! It's really perfect for my studio/office - gives me so much more space on my drafting table by providing a place for my supplies I'm using. Anyways - I would like to get rid of those 2 white carts (a lot of stuff will go in the cabinet - it has 3 shelves). I'm trying to think of a way to utilize that wall space above with some kind of storage, without it looking junky. Was thinking that might be good for scrapping supplies I use often. Or I could just hang some artwork there, or a white board.

I would love some ideas. Somehow I got the home improvement gene and the artsy gene, but I missed the home decor one!

You could get a chalkboard and frame it, or a bulletin board. I cover the cork on bulletin boards with scrapbook papers so they look better.

LOL. I have two of those white plastic units stacked to hold all of my photos! But my studio/extra bedroom looks like a thrift store. Too many supplies of all kinds.

They served their purpose, Jean. But the drawers don't work so well, esp for my big items, and the casters too are about shot. I'll put them in the pantry or laundry area instead. They're just not useful to me for art stuff anymore!

First off, your doggie is adorable! I want! ;)

How big are your supplies you're looking to store. How about small shelves or something like spice racks to house smaller items you reach for a lot?
I LOVE organizing :D

How about some "cubbies", open storage boxes mounted on the wall. Maybe arrange them asymmetrically to add some visual interest. I don't know about the rest of you, but I really like to have my supplies visible, not in a drawer or behind a door.

I like the cubbie idea. We are replacing my old mismatched plastic storage pieces with the ClosetMaid modular pieces. I've bought decorative boxes to store some things that would get dusty - they fit nicely in the cubes and on the shelves.

Hey there, Dianne!

I have an idea - but I just haven't DONE it at my house yet! We just moved into a foreclosed-and-badly-neglected-and-then-we-bought-and-remodeled-it house in April. We had to take out several bathroom vanities that had some nice, sturdy drawers that I just hated to throw out. I have an idea of using them for wall storage - somehow. Painting them in cool colors, add some funky knobs, mount to the wall, etc.

Well, I haven't done it yet, but it's in my head.

In the meantime, I found a pretty good example on Pinterest. http://pinterest.com...41244516629328/

Check it out - pretty fun!

I was going to recommend looking on Pinterest for some ideas, but Cindy beat me to it, lol. I have the same white drawers and by looking at your photo, I think your room looks beautiful!

I just went to one of those parties where you buy organizing stuff. There is a picture in their catalog that I fell in love with. It may give you some ideas that you can adapt to your space. There is so much storage space in these attractive, versatile containers. The link is below:

I hope this helps. Kathy

I think a wall shelf above would be handy. You can wallpaper (or use fabric)on the inside of back of the shelves to spice it up at bit. (pinterest idea) There are all sorts of ideas for decorating those plastic drawer stacker thingies too!!

Do you need a pinterest invitation??

I was away when you posted and when I saw your picture wondered why my dog was on a blue chair? LOL, I do love Boston Terriers!

I also like Cindy's idea of checking out Pinterest. If you search "wall storage" you'll be astonished by the ideas. See you next week?
