New Granddaughter On The Way

My son and his wife have been married 12 years and they are finally expecting a little girl in December. There were some hurt feelings along the way as my daughters began to have children and my son and daughter-in-law felt left out. My oldest daughter waited 11 years for her first. We know they are fortunate to have overcome their infertility issues. My son and daughter-in-law felt that if God wanted them to have a child that he would give them one. They finally decided to consult a doctor about infertility and made an appointment. A couple days before the appointment my daughter-in-law did some calculations and decided to take a pregnancy test. She was thrilled to be able to call the doctors office back and change the infertility appointment to an O.B. visit. Since God answers prayers in his own time with either yes, no, or wait, this was definitely a "wait" answer. Mom and baby are doing well and the baby is due in early December.

I could sit down and have a long, heart-to-heart with your son and his wife. Infertility was our journey, too. Nine years. It is soooo difficult to experience - and it is impacted by the fertility of all the people around you that are able to have children - while you wait and wait, pray and pray some more.
I wrote a book about it, in fact, from the perspective of the journey for the couple (I interviewed over 30 couples), as well as a chapter aimed at "when someone you know is infertile" and how to help them by knowing what not to say or what to say. (www.InfertilitySurvivalGuide.com)
We ended up adopting our son, and it has been a huge blessing, and no doubt, God's plan for our parenting journey.
But there's a little corner of my heart that will never forget how much infertility hurts.
There is no doubt that the joy that comes when a couple finally does have a baby on the way is simply unparalleled! Congrats to your son/wife! We'll be expecting LOTS AND LOTS of new baby LOs in December!
Blessings,
Cindy

That is wonderful news - I love hearing this kind of news!
Infertility will also be near to my heart. We were successful, but I know the pain, frustration and even anger of waiting and wondering if it will ever happen. I LOVE to hear how people overcome the pain to have the family they will cherish.
Double congratulations to you and them!!!
