I remember an article ( think it was a newsletter article - maybe a tutorial with a brush which I can't find) not too long ago about using a brush & eraser tool to punch out through several layers. Tried searching in the blog with no results. Anyone know where to find this?

Hi Betty, could it be the tutorial in this newsletter from April 6, 2011? Creating Digital Scrapbooking Backgrounds with Dimension

Thanks - this is real close, but the one I'm thinking of told how to use a setting in PS that lets you "punch down" through several layers. I guess you could use this procedure several times and get the same result. Thanks for checking it out for me.

Betty, I have punched through several layers, once you have the marching ants happening - select each layer as you go and with each layer hit delete.

Are you perhaps thinking about the check box [ ERASE to HISTORY ] located in the Eraser task bar? Simply select the top layer you want to "cut down from" and then with your eraser brush simply click on your layout. Hope that helps!
teecee ... you are amazing at finding those tutorials!! How do you do it?! :) I for one, S000 appreciate it!!

It's always nice to have a reminder of a technique. I just played with it again and it makes a really nice effect. I find if I don't do something frequently I tend to forget.

Thank you so much ladies. You all have pointed me right where I wanted to go. Maybe someday Theresa could give a tutorial on searching the blog! :waving-hi:
